‘Sister Wives’ Janelle Brown Moved To Offload Her Portion Of Coyote Pass Land After Kody Split

Janelle Brown moved to close another chapter in her life post-split from Kody Brown.

The "Sister Wives" star revealed her plans to sell her portion of the Coyote Pass land, signaling a clear shift in her priorities. This decision follows her purchase of a new home two years after ending her relationship with Kody.

Just as Janelle Brown has embraced this new chapter in her life, letting go of Coyote Pass marks another step in her journey toward independence and starting fresh.

In a teaser clip for the upcoming episode of TLC's "Sister Wives," Janelle opened up about her plans to sell her portion of the Coyote Pass property to her ex-husband. 

The decision comes as she considers relocating to Montana to be closer to her eldest daughter, Maddie, and her family.

Christine Brown, who has been a strong advocate for Janelle, called it a "no-brainer" for her to move near Maddie, rather than stay on Coyote Pass with the uncertainty of living near their former family.

In Touch reports that Janelle is determined to move forward, but with Kody being uncommunicative about the property, she is considering legal action to resolve the situation.

"If Kody's not willing to buy me out … I'm going to have to do something with it," she told Christine. "I think I'm going to have to lawyer up. That's the only way I'm ever going to get any kind of decision out of him," the 55-year-old added.

Janelle is ready to move on, but untangling her ties to the Coyote Pass property is proving to be more complicated than anticipated.

Despite her enthusiasm for starting fresh, the mother-of-six has acknowledged that selling her share of the land will not be as simple as she had hoped."I really have no legal rights to make any kind of claim on Kody's property. We're not legally married," Janelle admitted.

The Coyote Pass property, which Kody and his wives purchased with the dream of each having their own home, has become a symbol of the fractured family. The ambitious plan never came to fruition, with the houses remaining unbuilt as relationships unraveled.

Christine was the first to end her spiritual marriage with Kody in November 2021, and Janelle followed in December 2022. Meri was the last to confirm her split from Kody in January 2023, leaving Robyn as his only remaining wife.

After Christine's departure, the family's patriarch bought back her portion of the land, allowing her to take the money and relocate to Utah. Now, Janelle is also facing the challenge of securing a similar resolution as she contemplates her next steps.

Before addressing her situation with Coyote Pass, Janelle had invested in a fresh start by purchasing an expansive property in North Carolina. In July, The Blast reported that the author took a major step by acquiring a $289,000 property. 

The 156-acre agricultural property is not just a new home for Janelle but a strategic choice, placing her less than a 30-minute drive from her daughter, Maddie Brown. 

Maddie, along with her husband Caleb Brush and their three children, relocated to Greenville, North Carolina, in July 2021. This move brings Janelle closer to her family, allowing her to be an integral part of her grandchildren's lives.

While Janelle might be figuring out life as a single woman now, she opened up about the deep connection she once shared with her ex-husband.

In a sneak peek of the 12th episode of "Sister Wives" season 18, Janelle revealed that despite the heartbreak, she has no regrets about their time together.

She even became visibly emotional as she reflected on their relationship, acknowledging that their love might have reached its natural end. With her voice heavy with emotion, Janelle admitted:

"I know that I didn't make a mistake in marrying him. I would do it all over again. I didn't think these kinds of things had an expiration date, but it appears that our relationship might have had an expiration date."

Although Janelle's recent life changes, including purchasing a new home and attempting to sell her share of Coyote Pass, have garnered attention, it is important to remember that she has also endured significant heartache. 

The devastating loss of her son, Garrison, has been a painful chapter in her life. Yet, instead of retreating from the world, Janelle is choosing to create new memories with her remaining children. 

One such moment of joy was shared when she posted a snapshot of a fun-filled trip to Disneyland with Gabriel and Savanah. Despite their grief, the happiness on their faces suggests they are finding ways to heal together.

Janelle, donning Minnie Mouse ears and a vibrant red and white floral blouse, beamed with happiness. Her children added to the sweet moment by forming heart shapes with their fingers. 

She captioned the image, "Disney Day! Gabe, Savanah, and I made a quick trip to Disneyland. I never want to waste an opportunity to make memories."

As Janelle Brown continues to navigate life post-Kody, the dynamic of the "Sister Wives" continues to shift towards an unknown territory.
