Diddy's Lawyer Claims His Baby Oil 'Freak Offs' Were 'A Lifestyle' And 'Not Criminal' Activities

Sean "Diddy" Combs' lawyer, Teny Geragos, has downplayed the revelations from the rapper’s indictment, saying they do not make him the new Jeffery Epstein.
The indictment revealed that the embattled music mogul organized sex orgies known as “Freak Offs,” and during a March raid, authorities discovered an excessive amount of baby oil and lubricant in his home.
Following the indictment, Diddy was arrested and charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Diddy’s Lawyer Claims The Rapper Is ‘Innocent'
During an appearance on NewsNation's "Cuomo," Diddy’s lawyer, Geragos, slammed the charges against the rapper, claiming that “he’s innocent.”
The bold claim follows Diddy's indictment, which exposed a litany of alleged illicit activities involving the music mogul. One of the key revelations focused on the “Freak Offs,” described as multiple sexual orgies involving Diddy's female victims and male prostitutes.
However, Diddy's lawyer has insisted that it is wrong for people to conclude that Diddy has committed any crime.
Geragos said during the chat with Chris Cuomo: “A lifestyle and being present in activities doesn't mean he committed a crime. Those activities and the lifestyle is not criminal."
She also claimed that since federal prosecutors did not mention during Diddy’s arraignment that these encounters were non-consensual for the women, it suggests the rapper's innocence.
Geragos added, “What was notable today, what my partner Mark said in court, is they never once said that these women didn't consent to what happened, not once.”
Diddy Not New Jeffrey Epstein Despite Sex Charges, Claims His Attorney
Geragos also compared Diddy to figures like R. Kelly and Jeffrey Epstein, both convicted of sordid sexual-related crimes involving minors. She emphasized that, unlike them, Diddy has not been charged with any such offenses.
“The difference here between R Kelly, between Epstein, no charges relating to minors,” she insisted.
Geragos implied early during her chat with Cuomo that Diddy made no attempts to run away as he made himself available in New York when they suspected an indictment was happening.
"12 days ago, Chris, when we thought there's an indictment that may be coming, [Diddy] flew to New York the very next day," Geragos said. "He got on a plane and he came here and that's an extraordinary move for a defendant who's been under investigation, that he's been aware of, for at least six months.”
“He came to the very jurisdiction that is investigating him, and he said, 'I'm here. I want to surrender. Let me surrender,'" the lawyer added. “He has done everything, everything somebody under investigation can do. I can't think of anything else that he could have done. There were no surprises here.”
Diddy Is Being Held At The Metropolitan Detention Center
Following his arrest on Monday night, Diddy was charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
He was arraigned on the charges on Tuesday, and, as promised by another of his lawyers, Marc Agnifilo, he entered a not-guilty plea.
Diddy was brought to court from the Special Housing Unit at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he was detained after his arrest.
The music mogul is not the first high-profile individual to be detained at the MDC, as figures like R. Kelly, Sam Bankman-Fried, and Ghislaine Maxwell have all had temporary stints at the facility.
The Rapper Has Been Denied Bail Twice
At the Tuesday hearing, Diddy was denied bail despite putting up a hefty bond worth tens of millions of dollars. Judge Robyn Tarnofsky had denied bail because she was not convinced he would appear in court if released.
The following day, Diddy's team proposed an amended bail package at another bail hearing before a different judge, Andrew L. Carter.
However, that, too, was turned down by the new judge, who ruled that if Diddy was released on bond, there was a possibility of witness tampering and obstruction in the case.
After the unsuccessful attempt, Diddy was removed from court and returned to the detention center, where he will remain until his trial.
Diddy Intends To Prove His Innocence During Trial
As the case continues to unfold, Diddy’s team is gearing up for a fight to prove the rapper’s innocence during his trial.
“He’s going to clear his name and we’re going to stand by his side as he does. We believe in him wholeheartedly,” Agnifilo told reporters on Tuesday, per CNN.
Agnifilo had earlier defended Diddy in a statement after the federal indictment, stating that they were “disappointed with the decision” and that it was an “unjust prosecution” of the music mogul.
Per the Daily Mail, the attorney added, “[Diddy] is an imperfect person but is not criminal. To his credit. [He] has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts.”
