Olivia Rodrigo, who has been outspoken about her views on reproductive rights, says she is "looking forward" to hearing how Kamala Harris will "fight for reproductive rights."

The current Vice President of the United States kicked off her presidential race with a promise to "restore reproductive freedom." Her campaign clarified that this means she's advocating for the return of Roe v. Wade, the decision that protected abortion rights until fetal viability at around 22 weeks.

Kamala Harris has garnered support from many prominent abortion-rights groups and celebrities, such as Olivia Rodrigo, ever since.

Throughout her career, Harris has been a steadfast supporter of abortion rights and is often viewed as a stronger advocate for reproductive rights compared to Biden. During her time in the Senate, she co-sponsored legislation aimed at preventing states from imposing restrictions on abortion and voted against a bill seeking to ban abortions after 20 weeks.

As Vice President, Harris strongly condemned the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, becoming the administration's most prominent voice on reproductive health rights.

Despite the growing pressure, the Harris campaign confirmed to POLITICO that her position remains unchanged since her September interview on "Face the Nation," where she reaffirmed her support for restoring Roe v. Wade’s protections.

“I am being precise. We need to put into law the protections of Roe v. Wade,” Harris said in that interview. “And that is about going back to where we were before the Dobbs decision.”

In her first week as the presumptive Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris made abortion rights the focal point of her campaign rally in Milwaukee.

“We, who believe in reproductive freedom, will stop Donald Trump’s extreme abortion bans because we trust women to make decisions about their own bodies and not have their government telling them what to do,” Harris said at the Massachusetts event in July. “If there are those who dare to take the freedom to make such a fundamental decision for an individual, which is about one’s own body, what other freedoms could be on the table for the taking?”

The 21-year-old has been a vocal advocate for reproductive rights, launching her Fund 4 Good initiative at the start of her Guts World Tour in February.

The initiative supports girls' education, reproductive rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence by funding community-based nonprofits. A portion of the tour's ticket sales went to support the cause, along with contributions to the National Network of Abortion Funds.

She didn’t stop there—at several of her tour stops, local organizations were present to distribute condoms, morning-after pills, and information on accessing abortion care for those interested.

Olivia Rodrigo is not the only big pop star to have shown her support for Kamala Harris. Shortly after Harris' debate with former President Donald Trump, "22" singer Taylor Swift took to Instagram to endorse the current Vice President.

"Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most," she said. "As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country."
