‘RHOC’ Shannon Beador And Ex John Janssen Reject Mediation Amid $75,000 Lawsuit

Shannon Beador and her ex-boyfriend John Janssen are not letting the gloves come off anytime soon in their court battle.

The reality stars informed the court to ditch the idea of them settling outside of trial in the ongoing legal tussle.

John Janssen filed the lawsuit against Shannon Beador, accusing her of refusing to settle a $75,000 loan he gave her during their relationship.

The estranged partners duly informed the court not to worry about setting up a mediation date as they do not see the need to attend.

The "Real Housewives of Orange County" stars expressed this through their attorneys, stating, "At this time, the parties do not believe mediation or arbitration would be fruitful."

They noted that they had exchanged initial discovery and are "waiting to receive discovery response." Beador and Janssen were an item for years before finally parting ways in 2022.

Following their split, Janssen claimed Beador requested $40,000 for a facelift procedure and then asked for another $35,000 months later. In his lawsuit, the businessman stated that Beador ignored all his pleas and requests for repayment.

Beador then replied to the filing, denying the claims that she refused to repay the loans Janssen provided for her.

Her attorney told the court that Janssen and Beador "were in a romantic relationship for over four years. During the relationship, the parties regularly shared their finances and assisted each other with certain financial contributions."

According to In Touch, Beador's legal team claimed that Janssen only started calling the $75,000 a loan because the "relationship soured and eventually ended." Beador's lawyer added:

"Defendant denies that said money were loans, but were simply monies shared during the relationship."

The reality star argued that her ex-boyfriend's alleged damages in his lawsuit were his own doing.

According to Beador, "part, if not all of John's alleged damages were incurred as a result of John's own breaches, acts, omissions, and negligence and thus recovery of John against Shannon is barred or reduced accordingly," her lawyer wrote.

She then requested that his lawsuit be dismissed and that Janssen be ordered to pay her legal fees. Her lawyer added:

"Shannon has engaged attorneys in defense of John's frivoulous, unfounded and unreasonable claims, and are thereby entitled to an award of reasonable attorneys' fees pursuant to applicable law upon judgment in Shannon's favor."

Beador has been spotted getting emotional multiple times while addressing the $75,000 loan issues on the new season of "Real Housewives of Orange County."

Not only did Beador request the businessman pay her legal fees. The Blast reported that her legal team claimed he had insufficient evidence to back his allegation that Beador owed him money. According to Beador's attorney:

"Mr. Janssen's request for punitive damages is warranted by the facts and claims alleged in the [complaint], which sufficiently allege malice and fraud by alleging that [Shannon] acted with the intent to induce Mr. Janssen to rely on her misrepresentations to defraud Mr. Janssen."

Janssen responded to Beador's claims and accused her of intentional deception. His attorney stated that Beador convinced Janssen to loan him the money despite her knowing she had no intention of paying it back.

In her filing, Beador described the $75,000 as a "gift" from her ex-boyfriend and not a loan as alleged. Janssen's attorney, however, disputed that and described it as an attempt by the TV personality to evade accountability.

"Shannon knew when she made her false promises and representations that Shannon did not intend to pay for such services." the lawyer declared. Janssen, in his rebuttal, continued that the star never intended to follow through on her promise, adding:

"For example, in an attempt to avoid her obligations to repay the loans, Shannon now asserts that the loans were a 'gift' from Mr. Janssen, which is completely false."

Since parting ways with Beador, Janssen has moved on with another partner. Last month, he took the next step in the relationship by getting down on one knee.

Bellino announced the engagement on her Instagram, posting a picture of her and Janssen with a big diamond ring on her finger. The "RHOC" star proved she was smitten with the businessman in her caption:

"On Cloud 9. Celebrating 9 months of love and laughter, and looking forward to my forever with you."

She described every moment they have spent together so far as a gift, adding: "I am so in love with you and the beautiful life we're building together. And the answer is 100000000% yes."

Is there a timely end in sight for the legal brawl between the two ex-lovers? Only time will tell.
