TLC's "Sister Wives" is honoringKody Brown and Janelle Brown's late son.

The emotional season 19 premiere of the show opened with a touching tribute to their late son, Robert 'Garrison' Brown, who passed away earlier this year.

Although filmed months before his untimely death, the episode paid homage to his memory. His tragic passing, reportedly a suicide, has left a deep void in the family.

As the Browns grapple with their grief, the heartfelt tribute on the "Sister Wives" season 19 premiere highlights the love they will always hold for him.

'Sister Wives' Season 19 Began With Emotional Tribute To Janelle Brown's Son 

The popular show's season 19 premiere began on an emotional note, paying tribute to Kody and Janelle's late son, Garrison, whose sudden passing in March 2024 deeply affected the entire family.

Although the footage was filmed months before this tragedy, a title card at the beginning of the episode read, "This season of Sister Wives began filming in late 2022. On March 5, 2024, Kody [Brown] and Janelle [Brown] 's son Garrison passed away." 

The message acknowledged the profound loss, stating, "He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed." According to a press release from TLC, the season will focus on how the Brown family comes together to cope with their grief and celebrate Garrison's life despite the ongoing tensions within the family.

Despite the estrangement between Kody, three of his former wives—Janelle, Christine, and Meri Brown—and some of his children, In Touch reports that they have set aside their differences to unite in honoring Garrison's memory.

Kody is grappling with deep regret following the passing of his son, Garrison, with whom he was estranged at the time of the Army veteran's death. 

In a heartfelt interview, the "Sister Wives" star spoke about the pain of missed opportunities. "The only regret is just taking advantage of the time," Kody shared.

The 55-year-old wished he had taken more time to do simple things like going out to dinner, having a drink, and enjoying Garrison's sense of humor. 

Janelle, who parted ways with Kody in 2022, also touched on how the loss of their son has affected her. Although the grief has prompted occasional check-ins between the former couple, Janelle admitted they now live separate lives.

"And I do wish everybody well. I think that maybe it puts perspective. Maybe it does. Maybe you're not quite so angry or so … whatever," she added.

Garrison Brown Passed Away In Flagstaff From Suicide

The Brown family was rocked by tragedy in March after Garrison, a familiar face on TLC's "Sister Wives," reportedly passed away in Flagstaff, Arizona.

The Blast reported early reports suggest that Garrison died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, though no foul play was suspected at the time. 

Authorities were called to the scene after his brother Gabriel discovered his body. While investigations continue, there has been no confirmation regarding the presence of a suicide note.

Garrison frequently appeared on the hit show alongside his mother, Janelle, and father, Kody. He was known for his candid moments and connection with viewers.

In the wake of unimaginable loss, The Blast reported that Janelle opened up about how tragedy brought her family closer than ever. 

The mother-of-five shared that the death of her son not only healed strained relationships but also strengthened the bond between her children and those of her fellow sister wives, Christine and Meri.

Janelle revealed that despite the chaos of their busy lives, their kids have made a concerted effort to reconnect and be there for one another. In her own words:

"They've drawn closer, and that's been a really wonderful thing to see because once you get to be adults, you drift away." 

Even though her life has taken a different path, Janelle emphasized how important it is for her to stay involved with all of the children "forever and ever."

While acknowledging that substance abuse may have played a role in his mental state, Janelle emphasized that he never displayed "any kind of extreme sad feelings."

Describing the late Garrison "as very funny, very upbeat," she added that he was someone who had a thriving social life and a promising career ahead of him. She also mentioned that Garrison had adopted a new cat just before his death and was excited about his future. 

As season 19 of "Sister Wives" continues, the emotional weight of Garrison Brown's passing remains central to the Brown family's journey.
