Following the finalization of his DWI case, in which he took a plea deal to a lesser violation, Timberlake gave a court-ordered apology outside the courtroom.

The singer told the press that he made a mistake and warned that no matter what, one should never get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol.

“This is a mistake that I made but I’m hoping that whoever is watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake,” Timberlake said, per New York Post. “Even one drink — don’t get behind the wheel of the car.”

The "SexyBack" singer arrived in court earlier today looking stern. He wore a navy blue sweater and brown-gray slacks for the hearing, and rose-colored sunglasses covered his eyes.

According to People Magazine, a source revealed that Timberlake is ready to put the legal drama behind him and "move on," as his family and ongoing tour are his top priorities.

"He's a family man, and this is his focus. He accepted a plea deal because he wants to move on," the source said. "The court case has been a distraction. He doesn't want his family to be affected by it."

In an August hearing, his license was suspended for a year in the state of New York, which his lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., said was "standard."

"It's not like he's getting off completely — his license is still suspended," the insider added. "Jess has not been happy about it. She's encouraged him to accept the plea deal."

Following her husband's arrest in June, a source close to Biel shared that she was unhappy about Timberlake's run-in with the law.

The "Total Recall" actress was also in New York City, where she was filming her Prime Video series, "The Better Sister," miles away from Sag Harbor, Long Island, where Timberlake was arrested.

According to the insider, Biel was "embarrassed" but hoped that the incident would inspire him to reduce his alcohol intake.

"Jessica is disappointed but he is her husband so she is by his side and will have his back through all of it," the source told the Daily Mail. "She would like Justin to curb his drinking, so he never gets into a situation like this ever again. She is treating it like a slap on the wrist and is hoping that it doesn't lead to anything more severe in the future."

Timberlake reportedly decided to cut back on his drinking due to the effect of his arrest on his family.

Insiders shared that in an attempt to appease his wife, Biel, he made efforts to "clean up his act" and win back her approval.

"Part of Justin's mea culpa to Jessica was to admit that he'd gotten into some bad habits and that he needs to dial everything way back," the source told In Touch Weekly.

"He was busted with a vape pen, which is a big worry because of the [effect] it can have on his lungs," they continued. "So he's now agreed to totally ditch that for good, and he's gone pretty much cold turkey on the booze, too."

"The album didn't do too well, and I don't see Justin getting big acting roles right now," an insider shared. "I just think Justin has a bad reputation in Hollywood as a bit of a jerk and a pain in the a--. He's got a bit of an ego."

The source claimed that Timberlake's "golden boy image is definitely depleted," adding that "there have been rumors around Justin's behavior for a long time" and "maybe the bubble was about to burst and this was the pin that pricked the bubble."
