Halsey Confirms Engagement To Avan Jogia Following Her VMA Performance

Halsey and Avan Jogia have taken the next step in their blossoming relationship!

The "Ego" singer, who uses she/they pronouns, just confirmed her engagement to the Nickelodeon alum in an iconic way. She announced the big news while correcting a news outlet about Jogia's status in her life.

Halsey and Avan Jogia sparked engagement rumors two months earlier after she was spotted rocking a new gem on her wedding finger. The news also marks another milestone for the singer following her VMAS comeback.

The confirmation of Halsey's engagement went down on X after a pop news outlet shared a post about her desire to marry Jogia. The headline referred to the latter as her "boyfriend," a term she immediately shut down.

"***fiancé Avan Jogia," Halsey sassily corrected them, sparking thousands of likes and comments from pleased fans. Many were pleasantly shocked by the news and hoped the couple would make it down the aisle.

"CONGRATULATIONS QUEEN. WE ARE SO HAPPY FOR YOU," a fan chimed, while another supporter echoed similar sentiments, writing, "I hope they last. They look so good together!!" A third applauded Halsey's announcement style, adding:

She rode a bicycle onto the stage where a house prop had been set up and pulled up the garage door to unveil her band. Then Halsey grabbed her guitar and wowed the crowd with a powerful performance.

The singer was no stranger to rocking out at the VMAs and last serenaded fans with her vocals on the big stage in 2016. She joined The Chainsmokers for an unforgettable performance of their collaborated tune, "Closer."

Before confirming their engagement to Jogia, Halsey had fans suspecting they had taken the next step in their relationship in July. The Blast reported that they were seen enjoying a romantic picnic with their now-fiancé in New York.

The pair looked head over heels for each other while sharing bread, cheese, and a bottle of wine. They flaunted their romance with plenty of PDA and seemed to be in their own world as they lounged on the grass.

They initially sparked dating rumors in June 2023 after they were spotted enjoying a romantic getaway in Barcelona. Halsey and Jogia were photographed soaking up the sun on a beach and were later seen shopping for thrift clothes at the Silverlake Flea Market.

Halsey's new relationship blossomed during a challenging period as she was in a custody battle with her former partner, Alev Aydin. Following the end of their longtime relationship, she filed for full physical custody of their son, Ender Ridley Aydin.

Life hasn't been all roses and sunshine for Halsey, with The Blast sharing that she broke her silence on her hidden health struggles in June. She revealed the situation on the single "The End," sharing the official lyric video on YouTube.

"Every couple of years now, a doctor says I'm sick / Pulls out a brand new bag of tricks / And then they lay it on me / And at first, it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain / And I don't like to complain, but I'm saying sorry," part of the lyrics read.

Halsey shared more details about her health on Instagram, confessing that she was "lucky to be alive." She shed more light on her health in a separate post, revealing that she was diagnosed with "Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder" in 2022.

Fortunately, her health did not stop Halsey from enjoying a great relationship with her fiancé, Avan Jogia.
