Former friends Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini have reportedly reconnected, putting aside their long-time feud as they both go through their respective divorces.
The two actresses, who were once inseparable pals, allegedly had a falling out over Lopez's romance with Ben Affleck, as Remini feared he was "selfish and not fully committed as a partner."
Leah Remini and her husband, Angelo Pagan, recently announced that they were going their separate ways, explaining that they had both "changed" but would remain "best friends."
Jennifer Lopez And Leah Remini Reconnect After Falling Out Over Ben Affleck
Amid their respective divorces, Remini and Lopez have reportedly buried the hatchet and rekindled their friendship after maintaining distance for the last two years.
According to the US Weekly, a source explained that both actresses had a "long heart-to-heart" conversation as they "couldn't believe they were both in the middle of a divorce."
"Leah and J.Lo bonded over the shared experience," the insider noted. "And are in the beginning of rekindling their friendship."
Tensions arose between the pair when the "Kevin Can Wait" star shared her apprehension with Lopez about rekindling her romance with Affleck at the time "because he is selfish and is not fully committed as a partner."
However, the "Jenny From The Block " singer "was so mad" and decided to "cut off all ties" with Remini, who was notably absent from the singer's wedding ceremony at the time.
Jennifer Lopez Filed For Divorce From Ben Affleck
The news of the duo's reconciliation comes after Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, following months of intense speculations that their marriage had failed.
The actress filed her divorce without an attorney and listed April 26 as the date of their separation.
Since then, her camp has claimed that Affleck was "selfish, sullen and a loudmouth," a sentiment that Remini allegedly held.
On the other hand, sources close to Affleck claimed that Lopez was "fame-obsessed" and very public with their relationship, which the Oscar winner didn't like.
Leah Remini And Angelo Pagan Announced Their Divorce In A Joint Statement
Meanwhile, Remini and her long-time husband, Angelo Pagan, recently announced their divorce in a joint Instagram statement.
"Well, here we are. After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce," Leah and Angelo began. "This decision came after a lot of thought and care, and as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it's what's best for us."
"We are proud of how we have worked through this together," they continued before noting that they're both "sad" about their split but insisting that they're still "best friends."
"Yes, we're sad, and we've got some figuring out to do as we continue to move forward into our new normal—together still in many ways, and apart in some new ones," they added. "But here's the thing: we've been best friends for so many years. We are still celebrating holidays together, watching our favorite TV shows together, and gathering as a family."
Leah Remini And Angelo Pagan Said They 'Changed'
Unlike Lopez, who cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of her divorce from Affleck, Remini and Pagan shared that they went their separate ways because they "changed."
"So, the big question—why? To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn't fit us anymore," they noted in their statement.
"After a lot of effort and consideration, we've decided to take this step, which reflects who we are today. Our bond is still strong—it's just evolved into something different," they explained.
They claimed that they see their marriage as a "success" and take pride in raising their daughter, explaining that they wanted people to "see that relationships—whether they change or end—aren't failures."
Ben Affleck Was Left 'Humiliated' By Jennifer Lopez's Divorce
According to the Daily Mail, the "Good Will Hunting" actor was reportedly "humiliated" by his short-lived marriage with Lopez but had a shoulder to lean on in his friend Matt Damon.
A source claimed that Affleck broke down in tears and told Damon that he was "jealous" of his life, having quit smoking and maintaining his long-time marriage with his wife, Luciana Barroso.
"Ben is particularly vulnerable and feels humiliated after his failed marriage to JLo," the insider told the news outlet. "He broke down in tears and told Matt he's jealous of him and his lifestyle."
"He told Matt he has everything he wants - a nearly 20-year happy marriage and children who live with him. He admitted he's chosen the wrong path in life so many times while he's seen Matt take the right road over and over again," the source explained.
The source added, "He told Matt if he could hibernate right now he would."
