Kendrick Lamar fans have been starving for new music for him to be released for years now. It's been almost four years since he released his, "DAMN" album. This was his fourth album in total as the Compton rapper hasn't released any albums as DAMN was his last one. Fans are trying to remain optimistic that a new one will arrive in 2021 as they continue to keep his previous albums in heavy rotation, including DAMN.

'DAMN' Album Continues To Chart On Billboard 200 Chart

"DAMN" continues to post impressive chart numbers in 2021 as it set another new milestone for Lamar to start this week. According to Chart Data, this album has now spent four full years on the Billboard 200 chart. This is believed to be due to the fact that this album is Lamar's last album and the demand is there for new music. Also, his fans in general simply still love the great content that Lamar created on this album overall.

'DAMN' Was Kendrick's First No. 1 Album

"DAMN" was surprisingly Lamar's first No. 1 album as it hit the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart when it was first released in April 2017. It was led by hit singles such as "Humble," "Loyalty" feat Rihanna, and "Love" feat. Zacari. DAMN also currently stands at 3x platinum status in the United States. This project saw other hot records on it as well such as "DNA" and "Element." Lamar even went on to perform some of these songs at the 2018 college football national championship game.

Kendrick Won Pulitzer Prize For 'DAMN'

In April 2018, Lamar's "DAMN" album reached a remarkable accomplishment and that was winning a Pulitzer Prize. This became the first hip-hop album to ever reach this milestone. It was also the first album in general aside from jazz or classical to win a Pulitzer as well. Lamar obviously showed how much time and craft he put into DAMN and it all paid off as this Pulitzer Prize helped solidify him as one of the greatest rappers of all-time already. 

Many Kendrick Fans Are Letting Him Take His Time With Next Album Release

It's definitely been a very long time since "DAMN" was released. Many fans want a new album from Lamar ASAP but at the same time, some are completely okay with him not rushing to put a new one out. As seen with the DAMN album, it won a Pulitzer Prize and that was evident with the type of content that Lamar created. A lot of fans bring up the point that if the public wants another masterpiece, then Lamar can have all the time he needs for his fifth studio album.
