American rapper Earl Simmons, better known by his stage name Earl Simmons, sadly passed away in the early hours of April 9, 2021. This news was confirmed by his family, after he was placed seven days earlier.
The 50-year-old was well known for his incredible raps, and remains a legend to upcoming acts in the music industry. Although his legacy was short-lived, DMX would be remembered as one of the prominent rappers of all time.
Nevertheless, the same cannot be said about the rapper's net worth as he lost a lot of money and properties during his lifetime. He also blamed his ex-wife Tashera Simmons for some of these losses.

Who Is Tashera Simmons?
She is an American actor, popularly known as DMX's childhood friend, ex-wife and mother of four of his children.
The duo started out as good friends when they were little, but did not begin their love story until late in their teenage years.
During the course of their 15-year marriage, DMX was incarcerated severally and arrested more than a dozen times for different crimes ranging from drug possession to weapon charges, violating parole and many more.
The couple were married from 1999 to 2015, after which Tashera filed for a divorce and remained in charge of care for their four kids.

Although he had a tough childhood, as he grew up in an abusive homes, he managed to make the best out of his music career and became a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
DMX Blamed His Ex-Wife For Property Loss
According to reports, DMX's net worth at the time of his death is a negative sum. He lost a lot of money and properties including three houses due to the 14 counts of tax fraud he was charged with in 2017.
In 2001, he made a purchase for a house in Mount Kisco, New York, however, it was reported that the rapper defaulted in payments for the house.
After losing the house, he blamed Tashera, stating that she promised to sort the remaining bill on the $1 million house. The rapper also said that he tried to convince her to not live above her 'means,' but she didn't budge.
