Move over Dogecoin, because media mogul Nik Richie has launched his own cryptocurrency based on his fame and social media power, and is already seeing signs of it going to the moon!

Nik, who is the CEO of CelebMagazine, recently joined up with BitClout, a new crypto-based social network that allows users to mint their own coin for others to buy and sell. As more coins are bought, the price goes up and adds more value to the coin and celebrity.

According to a description of the platform from BitClout's website:

"BitClout is a new type of social network that lets you speculate on people and posts
with real money, and it’s built from the ground up as its own custom blockchain."

The coins in circulation are called "Creator Coins," and Nik Richie's coin, which he has dubbed NikCoin, has already seen tremendous growth just days after going public.

As of this post, NikCoin is being traded at around $356 per coin, with just over 27 coins in circulation.

BitClout is a fairly new platform that is rapidly catching on with celebrities and influencers. With the expectation that celebrities will all be turning their fame into BitClout, the company has created coins for some of the biggest stars around, including Elon Musk, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Katy Perry.

Elon Musk is currently topping the charts with 422 coins in circulation valued at around $84,287 each. Elon has not yet signed up for BitClout, but will be able to begin reaping the benefits of his popularity once he joins.

Ashton Kutcher, who has signed up, is currently trading around $12,305 with 161 coins in circulation ... but NikCoin is hot on his tail.
