Ben Affleck Allegedly Trying To 'Erase' Kick Kennedy From His Life Due To Jennifer Lopez Divorce

Ben Affleck is being accused of trying to "erase" his past relationship with Kick Kennedy amid rumors that they have been hanging out since his wife, Jennifer Lopez, filed for divorce.

Sources alleged that Affleck had reconnected with Kennedy; however, the actor's rep slammed the rumors as "untrue."

Now insiders claim that Ben Affleck is trying to minimize buzz around his past links with Kick Kennedy as he worries it could affect his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

According to the Daily Mail, Affleck is putting his connection to Kennedy on ice because he fears it will be an issue in his divorce from his estranged wife, Lopez.

"Ben should have said nothing," an insider told the news outlet. "He tried to erase Kick from his existence, and it was just not fair for her or for anyone who knows her."

"He is trying to pull the 'I don't know her' card but what he failed to realize is that they weren't the only two people in the world that knew that they used to hook up, or that they were hanging out again," the source added. "He fears that this will affect his divorce and, even though there was no overlap, saying he didn't even know her was not the right move."

A second source claimed that Affleck was trying to stay out of the news as he doesn't like "the intrusion that comes with celebrity" and disliked being name-dropped at the DNC.

Kick Kennedy is the daughter of politician Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently suspended his presidential campaign to support Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

According to the sources, Affleck disliked the possibility of being dragged into the political discourse and would rather distance himself from it for now.

"And now, when it comes to Kick, he is worried about being connected to Trump in the wake of her father's endorsement," a source told the Daily Mail.

"Given the current political climate Ben is putting the brake on Kick," they added. "But not only because of the Trump connection. He is also concerned about what JLo would think."

This revelation comes after Jen Allen, a rep for Affleck, shut down rumors of a budding romance between the pair, noting that they are "not true."

In a statement obtained by People Magazine, Allen maintained her stand on the falsity of the rumors, adding that she "doesn't know if they even know each other."

After Affleck's wife, Lopez, filed for a divorce from the actor, rumors quickly began swirling that the "Argo" star had linked up with Kennedy.

Hollywood insiders claimed that the pair had been spotted at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel and other hotspots.

Multiple sources told Page Six that Affleck has been "spending time together" with the 36-year-old Kennedy since June and that the Oscar winner is her celebrity crush.

"Kick's celeb crush has always been Ben," one source shared. They further described Kennedy, who is an actress and activist, as a "partier" who "likes to have a good time."

Amid rumors of a budding romance between Kennedy and Affleck, a source told the Daily Mail that the pair had a fling before the actor got back with Lopez.

"Ben and Kick had a fling before he got back together with JLo," the source claimed. "They met because Ben is from Boston, and when you live in Boston, the Kennedy family is royalty."

"So when he started hanging out with Kick, he legit thought that he had landed into the Kennedy family. But she was too young and not ready for anything serious," the insider added.

The source also stressed that Affleck and Kennedy never had an "affair during his marriage, but it is interesting to Kick's friends that as soon as this divorce happened all of a sudden Ben is hanging out with an old hookup whose family he sees as royalty."

Lopez is reportedly not happy with Affleck as she waits for her divorce to be finalized.

A source told Peoplethat the 55-year-old has been "really hit hard" by the divorce, despite her efforts to project a strong front since deciding to end the marriage.

Along with the pain of losing her marriage, Lopez feels "very upset and disappointed" with Affleck, who had moved out of their $68 million Beverly Hills marital mansion well before she filed for divorce.

Lopez now has the house all to herself, but she is finding it difficult to stay there alone. According to the source, the mansion's massive size, along with the flood of memories—both good and bad—are the reasons why she feels hurt.

The insider added, "She and Ben bought the house for the whole family. It's way too big for her and filled with too many memories as well."
