Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Role In 'Grey's Anatomy' Saved Him From A Bad Decision

When actors begin their journey in the movie industry, they're usually filled with energy, zeal and determination to take on the most impossible roles.
However, when the industry does not in turn match this energy, it feels like it was all for nothing. When some actors find themselves in this position, the next thing is to quit and find something else to be passionate about.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan was once in this position and had already made the decision to quit. What changed his mind? Find out below.
Morgan As Denny Duquette
Morgan appeared in the second season of "Grey's Anatomy" as a patient named Denny Duquette, who had a heart condition and needed a transplant immediately.
At the beginning, the interns led by Dr. Bailey came into his room and Izzie Stevens was called on to present his case. Denny watched her and subtly flirted with her, making another intern that she was involved with jealous.
Fans were so in love with the character and his involvement with Dr. Stevens, although that led to a series of rule breaking. At the end, he died and left a huge inheritance to Dr. Stevens.

It's not every day that people are called on to play a minor role in a series and they get famous immediately. This is why Morgan's acting career is such an amazing one.
Years before his role in "GA," he made up his mind to take a permanent step back from acting and focus on other things.
Speaking to Los Angeles Times in 2006, Morgan said that he was sure Shonda Rhimes did not anticipate the love his character would get from fans all over the world.
Duquette was like any other patient on the show, but his involvement with Dr. Stevens created a special bond that fans are still in love with till date.
Going On To Other Incredible Roles
After featuring on "GA" for a few episodes, Morgan's popularity soared high and he no longer had any reason to leave his movie career behind.
The father-of-two went on to land more incredible roles in different series. He played a daunting character in the series titled "The Walking Dead." He also starred as John Winchester in "Supernatural."
Morgan is loved by fans for his exemplary acting skills and his ability to take on any role he's given. Whether it's the love sick dude on a hospital bed or a merciless tyrant, Morgan handles his roles in movies like a pro.

Morgan was born in Seattle, Washington, U.S. on April 22, 1966. He first married actress, Anya Longwell in 1992, but they got divorced in 2003.
In 2009, he met his present wife, "One Tree Hill" actress, Hilarie Burton through a mutual friend and the duo were married in October 2019 and now have two kids.
Morgan graduated from both Lake Washington High School and Skagit Valley College. His initial plan was to pursue a basketball career, but that plan for tainted when he suffered a leg injury.
"... I fell into acting, found out I had a little talent and pursued it," the actor said about his decision to become an actor.
