One of the latest celebrity friendships that's making news is Angelina Jolie's bond with a "Grey's Anatomy" star. 

Believe it or not, Angelina's newest gal pal is Ellen Pompeo. The 51-year-old "Grey's Anatomy" star and Jolie have kept mum on their friendship. No one knew the two were friends until they were stopped having dinner together last week.

As with any celebrity, fans are curious how the two women became acquainted. Like many other Hollywood stars, Angelina and Ellen live in the same neighborhood.

The two women live within a few blocks of each other, and have formed a close bond over the years. Aside from them being friends, Jolie's daughter Vivienne is pals with Ellen's daughter Stella.

Recently, Jolie and Pompeo decided to leave the kids at home, and indulge in a girls' night out. The two actresses met up for dinner at an Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills.

Both ladies looked stylish for their night out. Angelina wore a white dress, while Pompeo opted for a black ensemble. Photographers would later capture the ladies as they exited the eatery.

Pictures of Jolie and Pompeo's dinner date has created abuzz. The two women have now become Tinseltown's fascinating new celebrity friendship.

Jolie's relying on the support of friends as she continues to go through stressful times. The "Tomb Raider" actress is still in a bitter custody battle with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Ever since filing for divorce in 2016, the exes have been in a heated court battle over their six children. Jolie has concerns about Pitt's parenting ability due to his past battle with alcoholism. She feels it's better for her to have full custody of the kids. However, Pitt is continuing to fight Jolie on the matter, and wants 50/50 custody.

The divorce battle between the two exes is one of the nastiest in Hollywood history. Any hope of a peaceful resolution with the pair doesn't seem to be in the works. Recently, Jolie sold an expensive painting that was a gift from Pitt.

Pompeo's friend Jolie isn't the only one who is facing changes in her life. The "Grey's Anatomy" actress may be gearing up to say so long to the show that made her a star.

Pompeo plays lead character Meredith Grey on the hit ABC drama. Throughout the years she's earned praise along with won numerous awards for her role. Although the show has seen plenty of cast shake ups, Pompeo has remained a constant fixture on the show.

The show is currently in its 17th, and possibly final season. The show's creator says that once Pompeo leaves, that will be the end of the series. Back in the fall of 2020, Pompeo implied that she may be leaving the series sooner rather than later. So it's possible 2021 could be the year, fans say goodbye to "Grey's Anatomy."
