Ben Affleck Slams Rumors About Budding Romance With Kick Kennedy Amid Jennifer Lopez Divorce

Rumors have been swirling about Ben Affleck's love life since his wife, Jennifer Lopez, filed for divorce after two years of marriage.

The actor was recently linked to Kick Kennedy, a writer and daughter of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. However, an insider claims that the rumors about the pair being an item "are not true."

This development comes amid claims that Ben Affleck's "mood swings" contributed to the breakdown of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez.

According to Fox News, a rep for the "Argo" actor has distanced him from rumors about a budding romance with Kathleen "Kick" Kennedy.

"The rumors are not true," Affleck's representative, Jen Allen, told the news outlet.

In a statement obtained by People Magazine, Allen maintained her stand on the falsity of the rumors, adding that she "doesn't know if they even know each other."

Hollywood insiders claimed that the pair had been spotted at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel and other hotspots.

Multiple sources told the news outlet that Affleck has been "spending time together" with 36-year-old Kick, the daughter of former U.S. presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., since June and that the Oscar winner is her celebrity crush.

"Kick's celeb crush has always been Ben," a source told the news outlet on Monday.

Amid rumors of a budding romance between Kick and Affleck, a source told the Daily Mail that the pair had a fling before the actor got back with Jennifer Lopez.

"Ben and Kick had a fling before he got back together with JLo," the source claimed. "They met because Ben is from Boston and when you live in Boston, the Kennedy family is royalty."

"So when he started hanging out with Kick, he legit thought that he had landed into the Kennedy family. But she was too young and not ready for anything serious," the insider added.

The source also stressed that Affleck and Kick never had an "affair during his marriage, but it is interesting to Kick's friends that as soon as this divorce happened all of a sudden Ben is hanging out with an old hookup whose family he sees as royalty."

Lopez recently filed to divorce Affleck at the Los Angeles County Superior Court following months of breakup rumors.

The singer filed without an attorney and asked that the court change her legal name from Affleck back to Lopez.

She stated their separation date as April 26 and passed on receiving spousal support while asking that the same be rejected for Affleck.

Multiple sources pointed accusatory fingers at Affleck as the cause of their split, as Lopez allegedly launched a last-minute quest to save what was left of their marriage at the time.

A source told Page Six that the kind of "big love Jennifer believes in" is "not in [Ben's] DNA" — going further to claim that Affleck "has a darkness to him that no other person can fix. [His actress ex-wife] Jen Garner couldn't fix it, all the success in the world couldn't fix it."

Meanwhile, a source claims that Affleck's opposing personality with Lopez seemingly ruined his relationship with the singer, as well as those around him.

"They are very different people," a source who knows them said, per People. "She's super public and is more social, and he's more of an introvert and is happy to hang out at home."

Another source noted that the "Good Will Hunting" actor's "mood swings" seemingly contributed to the failure of his marriage to Lopez, adding that Affleck frequently experienced "big highs," which were often followed by "big lows," and that "who he said he was and who he turned out to be were two different people."

Another insider claimed that this apparent character flaw consistently undermined his relationship with Lopez and strained his connections with others close to him.

"He doesn't understand how his bad mood affects people around him," an Affleck source shared.

Although the pair were said to be gearing towards an "amicable" divorce, it turns out that the absence of a prenuptial agreement is making it both "messy" and "very complicated," as everything they acquired during their nearly two-year marriage is now "community property."

According to TMZ, their assets are required to be divided equally, meaning they'd need to disclose their separate assets.

Among the many assets reportedly on the line is Affleck's production company, Artists Equity (AE), which he co-founded with his longtime friend, actor Matt Damon, in November 2022. Lopez's business ventures, such as her low-calorie alcohol line Delola, launched in 2023, are also at stake.

This means that Lopez becomes entitled to a portion of the profits from Artist Equity's recent and future blockbuster films, including "Air," "The Instigators," and the upcoming movie Unstoppable," which stars Lopez.
