Joey Lawrence's Estranged Wife Is Embracing Her 'Tears' Amid Divorce

Joey Lawrence's estranged wife, Samantha Cope, is showing the strength in her vulnerability in a new post on Instagram amid divorce.

The mom-of-one posted for the first time on Instagram since she filed for divorce from Joey after two years of marriage, and she is taking everything on the chin.

Samantha Cope and Joey Lawrence's marriage allegedly broke down due to Joey's rumored affair with a co-star in his upcoming movie.

The actress posted a powerfully captioned video on Instagram explaining her comeback. It was all about the advice she got from a dear friend as she battled Joey's divorce. Samantha wrote:

"An amazing friend of mine recently told me "don't be afraid of the tears. Let them flow. Because every tear is God gently squeezing the pain and devastation from your heart to make room for new beautiful feelings to come."

Samantha stated that her friend encouraged her to cry more, adding, "So let them flow. You got this." Her accompanying video featured clips of herself in tears, her baby girl, Dylan, and her friends, as well as clips of her on a farm with a horse.

Samantha's post was received by doting fans, who commented with uplifting words for her and did not hesitate to offer encouragement.

"I'm so sorry. I'm so shocked he did this to you did not deserve this and either did your daughter prayers to you hang in there so disappointed in him not cool," one user wrote.

One person declared, "May the tears you cry in 2024 water the seeds you're planting in 2025." Another commenter described Joey as a "little man" who has earned zero respect from them and added that Samantha was too good for him.

"Beautiful girl, you got this. Let the tears out and let them evolve into who you will become on the other side—an amazing woman and an incredible mother." This fan chipped in.

This commenter assured Samantha that she has a "tribe" on her side and encouraged her to "let those tears flow and squeeze that precious baby." One other commenter warned people to not be hasty with their judgments as "there are 2 sides to this story."

Samantha and Joey's marriage allegedly took a dive after Samantha discovered his shenanigans with Melina Alves, a co-star in his new movie "Socked In For Christmas."

The Blast reported that Joey was accused of love-bombing Melina the same way he did to Samantha during their courtship.

Samantha confronted Joey about the affair and even organized a couple's counseling for their marriage, but Joey allegedly continued to step out with Melina.

The inside source claimed that Joey would dress up for dates with Melina in Samantha's presence without a single remorse.

Melina's estranged husband, who filed for divorce in July, cited the affair between his estranged wife and Joey in his filing.

According to Edward Rider, the relationship began around late March in California, which was the set for their upcoming movie.

He continued that the couple soon transitioned from sneaking around on set to hanging out in various places at other times.

Joey was even featured in a now-deleted picture on Instagram, seemingly taken on the set of the movie. In the caption, Melina particularly expressed how much she missed Joey.

Joey probably now has a thing for meeting his love interests on movie sets. The Blast noted that in 2020, the 48-year-old met Samantha while they filmed "My Husband's Secret Brother."

The movie was directed by Joey's brother, Andrew, and Joey admitted in 2023 that it was his first time dating someone he had worked with before.

He described the process as "very much out of the ordinary," but it did not feel exactly weird as they were super comfortable working together on screen.

"There's a lot of trust there, obviously a familiarity there. We met doing a movie, which was weird because that's never happened to me in my life, all the 41 years of doing this," he declared.

Samantha also thanked the movie for playing a huge role in their romance when it premiered on the Lifetime network in September 2021. She wrote:

"#MyHusbandsSecretBrother ... will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the movie that led me to my future hubby. That amazing October morning... driving to work — about to start a new project, having no idea that God had even bigger things in store."
