Prince Harry's Old Friend Claims He 'Desperately' Misses Life In The UK, Labels Duke An 'Angry Boy'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently completed a four-day tour in Colombia, where they showcased their salsa dancing, and the duchess delivered a speech in Spanish at an "Afro Women and Power" event.

Despite outward displays of affection and high spirits, Harry is allegedly grappling with frustration, missing his former life in the UK.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams noted the contradiction in Harry's actions, criticizing his decision to travel to Colombia amid ongoing tensions with the royal family and security concerns in the UK.

According to a close friend of Harry's, the duke is battling with underlying feelings of anger and frustration, as he would much rather be back in the UK with his friends and family.

Speaking to The Times, the friend, who claims to exchange WhatsApp messages with Harry occasionally, revealed, "He's an angry boy. Things haven't turned out how he wanted. I think he misses being over here [in Britain] desperately and wants to be admired more. Anyone who knows him feels he'd rather be top of the pops here with everyone loving him, as they do with William and Kate."

Another source who has known Harry since his teenage years suggested that the prince likely longs for his former life, which was filled with pub outings and weekends in the English countryside with friends.

"He has ended up isolated from his family and most of his old mates, in an environment where your friendships are not like the ones you forged as a young man," the source noted, per the Daily Mail. "He used to love a night out in the pub and hanging out in the country with friends."

In an interview for ITV's documentary "Tabloids on Trial," which premiered on July 25, Harry voiced his concerns about his family's safety and expressed his apprehensions about returning to the UK with Meghan.

"It's still dangerous," Harry stated, per People Magazine, emphasizing that "all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read."

The duke continued: "Whether it's a knife or acid, whatever it is, these are things that are of genuine concern for me. It's one of the reasons why I won't bring my wife back to this country."

As tensions between Harry and the royal family persist, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams described Meghan's speech in Cali on Sunday as "extremely selective."

According to comments made to the Daily Mail, Fitzwilliams remarked that while her hosts likely appreciated her use of Spanish, her statements about "seeing something wrong and wanting to fix it" and promoting "love, kindness, and generosity" seemed selective, especially in light of the ongoing public rift with the royal family.

Regarding the tour's overall success, Fitzwilliams acknowledged that, from the Sussexes' perspective, the visit had achieved its goal by boosting their profile.

"It's certainly been a success as they see it. It has highlighted the Sussexes's profile, which was pivotal for them," Fitzwilliams noted.

However, Fitzwilliams also pointed out a contradiction in Harry's actions, noting the irony of declaring the UK "too dangerous" to visit while choosing to travel to Colombia, a country known for its high crime rates.

"The problem is the disastrous optics," he commented. "This is absurd; the fact that Harry is involved in a battle with the Home Office over levels of security which he may win, does not alter the fact that he reportedly preferred a hotel to Buckingham Palace when he was last in Britain. It doesn't make any sense."

During the trip, Meghan spoke at the "Afro Women and Power" forum at the Enrique Buenaventura Municipal Theatre in Cali, Colombia, where she warmly referred to Colombia's vice president, Francia Márquez—the first Black woman to hold the role—as "mi amiga" (my friend).

The duchess's attempt at speaking Spanish was met with enthusiastic applause. "I'm sorry if my Spanish is not perfect because I learned 20 years ago in Argentina but I'm trying because here I can feel this community and this feeling which is the best in the world," Meghan said, earning a loud cheer from the crowd.

The day before the forum, Márquez guided Harry and Meghan around Cali. Their visit included a stop at Escuela Tambores de Cabildo in Cartagena, a school dedicated to preserving traditional African drumming.

After being welcomed with a vibrant performance by the students, Harry and Meghan joined in, trying their hand at drumming themselves.

On their final day in Colombia, Meghan and Harry shared a tender moment as they showed off their salsa dancing skills during a visit to Jóvenes en Cali, a youth organization in the city.

In a video posted on social media, Harry can be seen twirling Meghan on the dance floor before she pulled him in for a kiss.

Throughout their four-day tour, the couple displayed several affectionate moments. One such moment occurred when Harry gently kissed Meghan on the forehead as they embraced during a visit to the National Centre for the Arts in Bogotá.

During the trip, they frequently held hands and exchanged supportive pats on the back, further proving their enduring bond.
