On Monday in Los Angeles, NBA Youngboy ran into even more legal woes. the Louisiana rapper was stopped by LAPD as he has an outstanding federal warrant. He pulled over but quickly fled on foot. LAPD were then able to use a K-9 dog to track him down as he was put into custody by the FBI. This case was relating to his arrest for gun charges in his hometown of Baton Rouge last September. As of now, he still has no bail.
Youngboy Could Face Between 5-10 Years In Prison
Youngboy's record continues to pile on as now, significant prison time may be on the horizon for him. A lawyer has since come out on social media detailing the case and according to him, Youngboy could land a sentence that puts him in prison between 5-10 years. His RICO charge was dropped but he was slapped with felony possession of a firearm.
"No Rico. Felon in possession of a firearm. When feds charge that they are going to have strong evidence like DNA or fingerprints or something else tying you to the firearm."
Weapon Was Found Inside Vehicle Youngboy Was In
When Youngboy was put into federal custody in LA, he was also found with a firearm which he is being charged for. His history of firearms along with him running from authorities will put him in a very tough position to avoid prison time here as well.
"While typically this isn't the most serious charge, when you have a guy with priors involving guns, and the guy who ran from Cops when they try to arrest him and then the cops found a gun in the car he ran from, that is all going to be a very big problem. Bail will be tough. And it's going to be very hard to avoid jail time."
Youngboy Had Two Firearms In Baton Rouge Arrest
Youngboy definitely appeared to be investigated by FBI agents heavily leading up to his arrest. For the gun case back in Baton Rouge last fall, he was found with two firearms. They were discovered to be a .45 pistol and a 9mm handgun. The 9mm turned out to not be registered in Youngboy's name, though. Gun possession then was prohibited for him as well as it violated his record for felony aggravated assault. This was all part of a drug bust that arrested over 15 people in Youngboy's hometown that month.
Youngboy Had A Lot Of Momentum From Huge 2020
Youngboy was one of the biggest artists of 2020 and set himself up for another huge year prior to this arrest. He had two No. 1 projects on the Billboard 200 chart with "38 Baby 2" and "Top." His "Still Flexin Still Steppin" mixtape also reached No. 2 at the start of 2020. In the fall, he teamed up with Nicki Minaj for multi-platinum producer Mike Will Made-It's "What That Speed Bout?!" single. Youngboy also had a collab album with Rich The Kid.
