Amanda Bynes' Latest Video Raises Concerns Over Her Well-Being
Bynes posted a video of herself from the backseat of a car. In the clip shared on Instagram, the 38-year-old former actress showed off her black hair with short, choppy bangs, a heart-shaped face tattoo, and a septum piercing.

Fans React To The Clip Of Amanda Bynes' Swollen Lips
On X, the video of Bynes divided fans. Some wondered if she was okay, while others called for people to stop scrutinizing the former actress.
One person wrote, "Nickelodeon and Dan Schneider ruined her when she was just an adolescent. Watch that documentary 'Quiet on the Set' if you want her story. Schneider was a complete piece of [sh-t emoji]."
Another said, "What has Hollywood, Nickelodeon & Dan Schneider done to Amanda Bynes [?] A lot of child actors just don't seem to come out good when they are adults."
A third person noted, "Oh, that's sad. I know she always struggled with mental illness throughout her life. I hope she can find some peace."
One individual on X slammed people commenting on her looks, noting that she has been struggling with her mental health.
They wrote, "Why is everyone all the sudden talking about Amanda Bynes' current mental and physical state? She's been like this for a while now and it should've been talked about more when she emerged like this then. Why now? Hollywood did this to her and it's sad, very sad. She was so talented."
Amanda Bynes Opens Up About Mental Health, Weight Gain, And Return To Manicurist School
In March, Bynes opened up about her health, revealing that her mental health struggles have led to some weight gain.
While sharing her struggle in an Instagram Story, she wrote: "I've gained over 20lbs in the past few months from being depressed. I'm doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite actions when I don't feel like working out or eating clean."
Now that she's feeling more stable mentally, the "What A Girl Wants" star revealed that she has set some fitness goals, noting, "I weigh 162 pounds right now and want to get back to 110 pounds."
Bynes also revealed her plans to start wearing wigs, explaining that her hair has been "growing out awkwardly" since she got a buzzcut.
Amanda Bynes Paused Her Podcast To Pursue Career As A Manicurist
The former actress first announced her career change last December, revealing she decided to pursue a manicurist license instead of continuing the podcast that she co-hosted with Paul Sieminski, titled "Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast," just a week after the pilot episode aired.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Bynes told her followers that she was done with podcasts after releasing only one episode. She noted that she was more interested in having a consistent job and plans to get her" manicurist license."
Bynes wrote, "The 1st episode of my podcast did really well... I was actually surprised and of course, was going to keep going because after friends encouraged me to."
"After thinking about it, though, I would rather get my manicurist license and have a consistent job," she added. The former child star concluded, saying, "I'm going to follow that path instead. Thank you for following my journey."
Her Mental Health Struggles And Conservatorship
Over the years, Bynes has faced several challenges, including a DUI arrest in 2012, allegations of abuse by her father, a conservatorship from 2014 to 2022, and a stay in a mental health facility in 2020.
In 2018, Bynes announced her sobriety and publicly apologized for the accusations against her parents. In February 2022, she filed to end her conservatorship, a decision her parents supported. Judge Roger Lund finally terminated the conservatorship in March 2022 in a California court.
However, in March of 2023, things took a turn for the worse for Bynes after she was spotted in the buff on the streets of Los Angeles. This led to her being placed on a psychiatric hold.
After being released a few months later, Bynes was placed on a second psychiatric hold in June when cops received a distress call from a woman who eventually confirmed to have been Bynes herself.
The former actress was eventually released and put on a plan to help manage her mental health struggles. Bynes has since stayed under the radar while posting life updates on Instagram every now and then.
