The 70-year-old appeared in a friendly video interview on the Tuesday episode of "Today" and discussed her health journey over the past few weeks.

Gifford spoke about her recent fall, which sent her right back to the hospital. The 70-year-old disclosed that she was running down the stairs in her Tennessee home to let her friend in from the back door. In her words:

"It was 100 degrees outside, and I live in a four-story brownstone. So I just went too fast, and it was stupid shoes and I went tumbling."

In a shocking twist, Gifford shared that she noticed something after the fall. "I was in no pain at all, and I was off painkillers. I was off all that stuff," she declared. "And I called my doctor, and I said, 'Shouldn't I be in a lot of pain?"

Gifford's doctor answered affirmatively and then suggested they get an X-ray. However, the doctor returned with the most uplifting news.

"Look at this, Kathie. Do you want to see your X-ray… you are cured…you are healed. It is a miracle. And now, you can have one glass of wine if you want," exclaimed the 70-year-old.

Gifford noted that her doctor does not see that kind of miracle very often. She then extended her gratitude to everyone who kept her in their thoughts and prayers.

She rounded up that segment by encouraging everyone "looking for hope and waiting for their miracle" to keep waiting, adding, "God hears your prayers, and he knows what you are going through."

The Author Fractured Her Pelvis In Two Places

The star's healing was miraculous indeed, as the fall left her with a broken pelvis in not one but two places!

The Blast shared that Gifford spent around a week in the hospital for the accident, which she described as her "own fault" for being in a hurry to get the door for her pal.

However, the socialite noted that her release from treatment left her in a good place, and she was "happy to be out of the hospital." Gifford said, "As lovely as all those people are to me, they really took good care of me, but there's no place like home."

Gifford also shared that she had to undergo regular physical therapy to hasten her recovery from the fracture.

The 70-Year-Old's Hip Replacement Surgery

The TV personality also spoke about the process leading up to her hip replacement procedure because her hips were completely out of shape.

The doctor reportedly stressed the urgency of her procedure because she has always "been on top," "climbing mountains," "dancing on top of all kinds of stages," "running for airplanes," and wearing her body out over the years.

Gifford then agreed with the doctor's observation, noting that she "had been in pain for over two years, and it was really, really a horrible time" for her.

Despite her pain, the talk show alum noted that her bone density rose up to almost 10% more than it was five years ago, and for that, she was thankful.

Gifford Learned A Valuable Lesson From The Fall

The author described the fall as a very humbling experience, but it also exposed the importance of patience, which she would utilize during her healing period.

"They gotta get you up and moving. You don't want your bones to atrophy,"she noted about her planned physical therapy sessions.

When asked about the timeline, Gifford answered that it could take between one to three months for her to fully heal, but she will be taking all their professional advice this time.

She also stated that she extended her stay in hospital to last for a week as she did not trust herself, adding: "You think you know your body, and the next thing you know, your body changes when you get older."

Gifford described her fractured pelvis as "more painful" than her hip injury, declaring: "The pelvis is unbelievably painful."

Inside Kathie Lee Gifford's New Book

The book, which was released in print on July 16, explored the lives and times of King Herod and Jesus's mother, Mary, and marked the first installment in her "Ancient Evil, Living Hope" series. Gifford explained that her fascination with Herod goes back to her first rabbinical trip. She added:

"We believe that Jesus' story is the greatest ever told. Well, Herod is the greatest story never told, unless you are some sort of a scholar."

She added that her son found her the perfect co-author and suggested she release a series. Gifford shared that the next installment will revolve around Nero and Paul. The 70-year-old hoped that "people are going to be fascinated and get caught up in the story because nobody knows it," per Woman's World.

Will Kathie Lee Gifford continue her physical therapy with this new miraculous development?
