George Clooney Reveals Why He's 'Irritated' With Quentin Tarantino As He Rips Into Famous Director

Hollywood star George Clooney, in a recent interview, expressed frustration with Quentin Tarantino for downplaying his status as a star.
The actor did not mince his words as he shared his dislike for the auteur, whom he felt was dismissive of his successful career.
George Clooney, however, expressed surprise at his longevity in the movie industry and discussed the importance of working with great directors.
George Clooney Hits Back At Quentin Tarantino's 'Not a Movie Star' Remark
During a chat with GQ Magazine, Clooney revealed he was annoyed with Tarantino after the director made comments suggesting that Clooney isn't a "movie star."
While sharing his frustration, the "Batman & Robin" actor said: "Quentin said some sh-t about me recently, so I'm a little irritated by him."
Clooney continued: "He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about [Pitt] and somebody else, and then this [interviewer] goes, 'Well, what about George?' He goes, 'He's not a movie star.'"
"And then he literally said something like, 'Name me a movie since the millennium,'" he recalled. "And I was like, 'Since the millennium? That's kind of my whole f-cking career.'"
The "Ticket to Paradise" actor went on to say, "So now I'm like, all right, dude, f-ck off. I don't mind giving him sh-t. He gave me sh-t."
George Clooney Reflects On Career Longevity: 'I'm Surprised I Still Have the Work'
Clooney acknowledged that he and his peers are fortunate to have worked with such talented directors, noting, "Look, we're really lucky we got to work with these great directors. Director and screenplay is what keeps you alive."
Clooney starred alongside Tarantino in the 1996 vampire thriller "From Dusk 'Till Dawn," directed by Robert Rodriguez.
However, in the 2000s, Clooney solidified his status as a leading man, starring in a series of successful films, including "Ocean's Eleven," "Ocean's Twelve," "The Perfect Storm," "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and many others.
Reflecting on his extensive career, Clooney, who has now been acting for over 40 years, admitted to the publication that the longevity of his career has even surprised him.
"I remember I talked to [Matt] Damon about this 25 years ago when he first hit with his movie and won the Oscar," he shared. "I was like, 'Just know that if you get a 10-year career, playing at that level, it's an absolute jackpot.' Nobody sustains it much longer than that. So, yeah, I'm surprised that I still have the work."
George Clooney Opens Up About Maintaining His Family's Privacy
The 63-year-old emphasized the importance of preserving his family's privacy while being a celebrity.
"A lot of people – even who reach a fairly high level of fame – find a way to be able to kind of live a normal life, walk around the streets of New York without being followed and stuff like that," he explained. "And there's, I dunno, five or six of us where it's just never subsided."
The actor continued: "There's never been that like, 'Hey, let's take a walk through Central Park and not get hammered. It just hasn't happened yet. It will, obviously. But it hasn't happened yet."
During the GQ interview, Clooney also shared why he and his wife, Amal Clooney, have chosen not to showcase their seven-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, publicly.
George Clooney Doesn't Want Photos Of His Kids Shared Online
Clooney further elaborated that his primary concern is ensuring that no photos of his children surface online.
"I have a goal of trying to protect, I don't want pictures of my kids," he said. "We deal in very serious subject matters, with very serious bad guys, and we don't want to have photos of our kids out there."
Academy award winner added, "So we have to work hard at trying to stay private, and it's tricky, as you can imagine."
Clooney and Amal had their kids in 2017, three years after their stunning Italian wedding in 2014.
