Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s estranged husband, Ryan Anderson, has stated that the paternity of her unborn child still needs to be clarified.

During a TikTok livestream on Saturday, August 10, the 38-year-old told his followers that he is required to undergo a DNA test as part of the process to establish who is the father--him or Ken Urker, given that Gypsy's pregnancy occurred while they are still legally married under Louisiana state law.

This latest news follows Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her new boyfriend, Ken Urker, announcing that they are expecting a baby girl together.

The ex-convict filed for divorce from Ryan, whom she married in 2022 while incarcerated, in April.

“People have been asking what is going on in my life,” she wrote in a post earlier this year. “Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou. I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am.”

She and Ken revealed they are expecting their first baby together on July 9.

Speculation has been swirling around who the baby's father could be based on when Gypsy left Ryan and began dating Ken. “I have to get a DNA test. I don't have a choice,” Ryan said in a TikTok Live, per People Magazine. “... I hate being in this situation.”

“I have to take a DNA test for court,” he explained. “The way the timeline matches up — I don't think it's mine, but I don't know. The DNA test is going to prove it. Crazier things have happened. I just don't know. I have my thoughts and I have my opinions."

What Do The Louisiana Laws Say?

In July, a Louisiana attorney confirmed to People that Ryan could be listed as the father on Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s baby's birth certificate if the child is born before their divorce is finalized. According to Louisiana law, if the mother is married to someone other than the biological father at the time of conception or has been divorced for less than 300 days at birth, the husband or ex-husband is presumed to be the father unless paternity is otherwise established.

For Ken Urker to have his name on the birth certificate, Ryan would need to sign an affidavit acknowledging Ken as the father. If Ryan refuses to do so, Ken would need to file a court motion, which would require all three parties to undergo a DNA test to determine paternity.

"You love Ken? Good for you. I'm glad that community loves Ken. Good for that. But hopefully if you are here with me, you are team Ryan," the special education teacher also said during his live stream.

If DNA results confirm that Ken is the father, his name will officially replace Ryan's on the birth certificate.

DNA Test To Reveal Who Is The Father

Louisiana attorney Beau Brock explained to People in July that the law is designed "to protect the child" and ensure that "the child has a father and a mother to provide for them."

"All the laws in Louisiana concerning paternity are designed to protect the child and make sure the child has a father and a mother to provide for them. So that presumption can be overcome by DNA and that's what people have to do," he told the outlet. "If the husband goes and signs the affidavit along with the boyfriend, then the true father, if you will, if it's the boyfriend's name, will go on the birth certificate."

Brock added, "In these kinds of situations, we always recommend to do a DNA test because there are overlapping hookups that are possible. You don't know."

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Having A Girl

On Saturday, Gypsy and Ken held a gender reveal party, where they announced the baby is a girl.

"The moment y’all have been waiting for... It’s a girl!" she wrote in an Instagram caption. "Ken and I are over the moon and are so excited to start our family. We’re so thankful for our friends, neighbors, and families who came to our party today! We also want thank ya’ll for your love and support!"

Ryan Anderson was not in attendance.
