Who hasn't made love to All Night Long?! Or perhaps you are a My Love kind of person? The point is that thousands of people have done the deed with Lionel Richie's melodic voice playing in the background, but the "American Idol" judge just revealed if he pops in his own music when he's in the mood.

The Hello singer appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Thursday, March 18. Richie and Kimmel exchanged some great celebrity stories from Lionel's past, including tales about Frank Sinatra and Bob Dylan. However, the star couldn't contain his laughter when Jimmy asked him the million-dollar question!

"Have you ever made love to one of your own songs?" Kimmel asked the singer. Lionel appeared extremely shocked by the direct question and replied, "Not that I can recall," with an infectious laugh.

Richie did, however, go on to say that he got some of the inspiration for his sensual lyrics from his time in the bedroom. "I probably got my lyrics a lot from that," he said. We couldn't help but be reminded of the lyrics to his first solo hit, Truly. "Let me hold you,

I need to have you near me,

And I feel with you in my arms,

This love will last forever" That is a classic!

The former Commodores member opened up to PEOPLE about his concept of love when he was promoting his Hello by Lionel Richie fragrance last year. "It starts from the inside-out. You want to make sure that you are in the mood and essence of it. That's called passion, you got it?" he said about keeping the romance hot. What is the business I'm in? Love. It's gotta tingle. If it's not vibrant, if it's not turning you on. then it's not happening."

We are not entirely sure what he means by that, but his words about love seem wise. He's written some of the best love songs ever, so he must know something!
