The 2024 Paris Olympics were nothing short of historic for Simone, who wrapped up the Summer Games with an impressive haul of four medals. With three golds and one silver, she has solidified her status as the most decorated American gymnast of all time.

As she celebrates the end of the Paris Olympics, she wants to make sure she takes time to recover from a minor injury she suffered earlier in the Games.

After her final competition, she was seen sporting a boot, per Sports Illustrated, in which she reassured NBC’s Mike Tirico and sports fans that her “calf is good" and wearing the boot is "just precautionary, making sure, because we still have tour after this to heal up and all of that stuff. So, just a little bit of soreness.”

During her warm-ups at the start of the Olympics, Simone took a tumble, but quickly got back on track by re-taping her calf before her final floor routine.

She had previously mentioned struggling with calf issues earlier in the competition.

“I feel like elite athletes are pretty tough, so we’re just, through pain or pleasure, we’re ready for whatever,” she told Tirico, according to the "TODAY" show, as footage of her fall was shown on screen. “So mainly, what you’re seeing here is, I was just trying to over-rotate for good measure, and I did just that and almost knocked (coach) Laurent (Landi) on out. But it was good.”

After stepping back from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to mental health challenges and the “twisties,” the 27-year-old gymnast triumphantly returned to the sport.

“I’m a lot happier and I chose to do this. So at the end of the day, whatever happens, happens. But I’m in a good spot mentally and physically, so you can’t take that away from me,” she said, per the "TODAY" show. “So whenever I’m out there, it’s just pure joy. Can’t believe I’m out there again, competing, representing my country, just having fun, doing what I love.”

Nellie Biles, Simone's mom, also commented on her daughter's mental health struggles and how important it is to seek help.

"Those times were really dark and stressful times," Nellie told People Magazine of the Tokyo Games. "To work through that and be in this place where she enjoys doing what she wants ... this is rewriting her story. It's rewriting it on her terms because she is in this place that she really perhaps wished she would have been for years."
