Kamala Harris has chosen Tim Walz as her running mate, and A-listers couldn't be happier about her decision.
After the United States VP announced the governor of Minnesota as her vice-presidential nominee, she received support from former White House residents Michelle and Barack Obama.
However, the power couple aren't the only ones to endorse Tim Walz, as stars like Alyssa Milano and Cynthia Nixon proudly celebrated the news on Instagram.
Michelle & Barack Obama Endorse Kamala Harris's VP Nominee
In a joint Instagram post, the Obamas shared a statement about Governor Walz's selection as Harris's running mate. The lengthy message began with them stressing that the VP didn't choose "someone inexperienced and polarizing."
"By selecting Tim Walz to be her vice president from a pool of outstanding Democrats, Kamala Harris has chosen an ideal partner — and made it clear exactly what she stands for," Barack and Michelle claimed.
The famous couple continued, "Governor Walz doesn't just have the experience to be vice president. He has the values and the integrity to make us proud." They listed some of his notable achievements, writing:
"As governor, Tim helped families and businesses recover from the pandemic, established paid family leave, guaranteed the right to an abortion, and put common sense gun safety measures in place to keep communities safe."
The Obamas Hail Harris' Choice As The Right Move
Barack and Michelle's joint statement continued with more praises for Walz, hailing him as a man who treats people with "decency and respect." They noted he had ties to the common folk as a former high school social studies teacher and football coach before he joined Congress.
Walz also served in the National Guard for 24 years; however, his most redeeming quality to be Harris's running mate came from his political views. "Like Vice President Harris, Governor Walz believes that government works to serve us. Not just some of us, but all of us," the Obamas chimed.
"That's what makes him an outstanding governor, and that's what will make him an even better vice president, ready on day one, Michelle and I couldn't be happier for Tim and Gwen, their family, and our country," the statement concluded.
Kamala Harris Receives Love From Celebrities
News of Walz's status as Harris's running mate caused a stir in the entertainment industry. Some of Hollywood's finest endorsed the choice. The list included "Charmed" star Alyssa Milano, who shared a video compilation of the governor's opinions.
The clip captured part of his clapback at Donald Trump's team, especially his running mate, JD Vance. The Republican's vice-presidential nominee recently faced backlash after a resurfaced video saw him slamming women in power.
Vance described women like Harris as "a bunch of childless cat ladies," a comment Walz referenced in the video, saying, "My God, they went after cat people. Good luck with that. Turn on the Internet and see what cat people do when you go after them."
"LFG! VP Walz! I love this guy," Milano captioned the video.
"Sex and the City" star Cynthia Nixon echoed similar sentiments on her Instagram page, sharing a reel of herself sipping a coconut alongside the words, "I'm Walzing on air! Thank you @kamalaharris."
Walz Was Chosen Over Multiple Potential Running Mates

Walz emerged victorious as Harris's running mate despite not being among the early frontrunners for the position. He reportedly faced about a dozen potential nominees but stole the spot as a late favorite.
Democrats support the governor because they believe he can appeal to rural and working-class voters in Midwestern US states. He has also drawn support from pro-labor groups and his party's progressive wing.
The love for Walz didn't end there, as he garnered significant attention on social media for describing Trump, Vance, and 'Make America Great Again' Republicans as "weird." BBC reported that several Democrats, including Harris, have since adopted his remark.
Donald Trump Campaign Slams Kamala Harris And Tim Walz
Trump's team responded to the viral "weird" remark in a heated statement, slamming Harris and Walz as terrible leaders. On Tuesday, press secretary Karoline Leavitt described the governor as a "West Coast wannabe."
According to the former president's press secretary, Walz "has spent his governorship trying to reshape Minnesota" in the image of a left-wing California. Leavitt's argument continued:
"If Walz won't tell voters the truth, we will: just like Kamala Harris, Tim Walz is a dangerously liberal extremist, and the Harris-Walz California dream is every American's nightmare."
Will Kamala Harris and Tim Walz emerge victorious in the election race, or are the Republicans returning to power? Only time will tell.
