The L.A. area bandits are getting bolder with time as Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson become the latest victims of the unending home invasions. The Hollywood power couple's luxury estate reportedly got robbed while they were out of town.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson's situation marks a concerning increase in celebrity home invasions, with Kyle Richards' daughter, Farrah Aldjufrie, also getting robbed in broad daylight.
Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson Missed By Daylight Burglars
According to law enforcement sources, Hanks and Wilson's L.A. property was invaded by thieves weeks earlier. These perpetrators accessed the duo's estate by smashing the glass at their guest house.
Fortunately, unlike the other robberies that have happened to celebrities, these crooks couldn't access Hanks and Wilson's main home. However, it was unclear if anything was stolen from the guest house.
Sources noted the famous couple were out of town when the robbery happened. Therefore, cops won't be able to estimate if anything was missing or how much the items were worth until they return and do an inventory.
The home invasion, per TMZ, happened in broad daylight, but insiders stressed that Hanks and Wilson weren't targeted. Instead, the burglary seems to be the work of one of the many crews in the area stealing at will.
L.A. Doesn't Seem Safe For Celebrities And Other Residents
According to sources, the case into Hanks and Wilson's home invasion is ongoing, with no arrests made yet. Their situation showed the growing boldness of L.A. thieves, with some reportedly tying up victims inside their homes.
As for celebrities, stars like Bhad Bhabie, Sarah Hyland, and Marlon Wayans, among others, have been robbed in recent months. Kyle Richards' daughter, Farrah Aldjufrie, had her home burglarized in April.
Like Hanks and Wilson's situation, The Blast reported that Aldjufrie's home was invaded in broad daylight around 1 PM PT. The thieves accessed her property by smashing open a door and cutting off her WiFi connection.
They presumably did so to turn off surveillance cameras and cover their tracks. Fortunately, Aldjufrie wasn't at home when the incident occurred but was later seen with her mother conversing with authorities.
Inside Hanks And Wilson's Pacific Palisades Home
Despite owning multiple homes in Malibu, California, Sun Valley, Idaho, and Greece, Hanks and Wilson's main residence is their Pacific Palisades mansion. They reportedly purchased the luxurious property for $26 million in 2010, one of the most expensive purchases in the area at that time.
The mansion, built in 1996 and previously occupied by Hollywood producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, boasted an enormous 14,513 square feet. The hilltop property featured four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and three stories in the interior.
Per The Richest, each floor had its unique and spacious balcony with a beautiful view. One of the floors is called a support space, consisting of modern decorations from pristine white walls to polished wooden flooring.
Hanks and Wilson's Pacific Palisades mansion also came with a wine cellar, a front yard with a large tree-lined motor court, and a circular guest parking area. Naturally, there was a cliffside swimming pool and a deck area for relaxation and events.
The Famous Couple Celebrates Each Other
When they are not splurging on new estates, Hanks and Wilson prove they are couple goals with their love for each other. The Blast shared that they happily celebrate each other's milestones, especially birthdays.
In July 2023, Wilson raved about her love for Hanks on his 67th birthday. She marked the occasion on Instagram with a lengthy message, describing her beau as her "lover, best friend, family, and the father of their children."
"He loves a typewriter just slightly less than me, (why is there no typewriter emoji?) invents cocktails like Diet Cokecaine (Diet Coke mixed with Champagne) or a Cokearita (Diet Coke mixed with margarita)," Wilson joked, noting that Hanks has made her laugh every day for the past 38 years.

Wilson echoed similar sentiments about her love for Hanks on their 35th wedding anniversary in April 2023. She shared a picture of her longtime spouse presenting with a cake to mark the occasion alongside the words:
"35 years of marriage. April 30, 1988. Love is everything."
The pair first met on the set of Hanks' sitcom, "The Bosom Buddies," in 1981 and tied the knot in 1988. Since then, they have supported each other through thick and thin, including Wilson's breast cancer battle and the COVID-19 pandemic.
As they have survived the odds together, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson will naturally get over their recent home invasion. Hopefully, it doesn't happen twice!
