Offset Slammed With Massive Tax Liens Amid Cardi B's Demand For Child Support

Offset's divorce from estranged wife Cardi B couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time, as the rapper's financial hurdles begin to mount.

The former Migos member's name has appeared on the list of not one but two federal tax liens, with considerable amounts to be paid in settlement.

Offset's latest controversy comes on the heels of child support and custody demands from his estranged and pregnant wife, Cardi B, who recently filed for divorce from the 32-year-old.

As of April 23, the musician owed $1,575,266 in federal tax lien and was hit with a fresh secondary lien of  $32,963 from the state of California, which was filed weeks ago on June 11.

A court clerk disclosed to The Sun that the debt remains unpaid, but only in Offset's name, as Cardi B's name was missing on the lien.

The 32-year-old now has a total of $1.6 million owed in federal tax lien, adding to the pile of financial commitments he needs to make as demanded in Cardi B's divorce filing.

As if Offset's financial troubles were not enough, The Blast reported that Cardi B requested primary custody of the two children and their third unborn baby and child support for all their children.

She also asked that their personal property acquired during their marriage be divided equally, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.

Cardi B did not let the news of her divorce deter her from sharing the good news of the latest addition to her growing family. The rapper posted her maternity shoot on Instagram, featuring her in a red ensemble and showing off her bare belly.

In her caption, she explained that the pregnancy was a new beginning to an ending and expressed her gratitude to have shared this part of her life with her, adding that her baby brought her "more love, more life." Cardi B concluded her post with:

"I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It's so much easier taking life's twists, turns, and tests laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it's worth it to push through."

The viral picture has gained over 5 million likes and thousands of comments congratulating her on the bun in her oven.

Offset and Cardi B have not had the smoothest relationship. In December 2018, the rapper was outed for cheating on his wife and a brief split followed.

However, The Blast shared that they reunited in 2019, and by 2020, Cardi B explained her decision to forgive her husband and give their love another shot.

The rapper acknowledged that many women were disappointed in her decision to "stay with him and work together with him." She added:

"But it's real-life sh-t. If you love somebody and you stop being with them, you're not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation."

Although the Georgia native was reportedly unfazed about the divorce, he still took the time to give an indirect reaction to the news.

Offset was caught liking a post on Instagram noting that he had been "slapped with divorce papers amid cheating reports" despite a previous denying stepping out on his wife in an Instagram Live.

Sources close to the estranged couple shared that separation had always been on the table as they have both expressed their doubts about their future as a family.

The duo's marital issues did not happen suddenly. The source continued that their connection as a couple has strained for a while now and when the option of going their separate ways appeared, there was no pushback from both parties.

Offset's reaction drew significant comments from some users who concluded the divorce news was a PR stunt for her upcoming album.

While the authenticity of that claim has not been confirmed, what is certain is the rapper admitted to working on a new project with the release slated for the final quarter of the year.

The rapper is reportedly three-quarters through but still has lots of retouching to do, but that and her pregnancy would not be an issue for her creative process.

The upcoming project will allegedly feature contributions from prominent artists in the industry and will be her sophomore album eight years after dropping her critically acclaimed debut album.
