According to Rolling Stone, the “Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time" tour promises this is the “grandest holiday spectacle to date” and marks the “first of many surprises” ahead of the 30th anniversary of the popular holiday single “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
When reflecting back on how the holiday hit came to be, Mariah told ABC, "I was working on it by myself ... on this little Casio keyboard and writing down words and thinking about, 'What do I think of at Christmas? What do I love? What do I want? What do I dream of?' and that's what started it."
"My goal was to do something timeless, so it didn't feel like the '90s, which is when I wrote it," she added of the hit, which is the most downloaded holiday song of all time, outshining classics like "Winter Wonderland," “Feliz Navidad” and “Jingle Bell Rock.”
“The crazy thing about it is, every year it tends to increase in popularity,” she told Billboard of "All I Want For Christmas."
