Halle Berry Slams Ex Olivier Martinez For Choosing 'Summer Off' Over Co-Parenting Sessions

The amicable relationship Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez seemingly had is on the rocks over their co-parenting agreement.

The former spouses are not strangers to having a tumultuous relationship, with their divorce turning into a years-long battle. Now, the "X-Men" actress is slamming her ex for taking "summer off."

Halle Berry recently filed a petition to cancel Olivier Martinez's summer plans, stressing that he needs to attend their court-mandated therapy sessions — however, his response spells trouble.

According to Berry's court documents, Martinez violated the terms of their co-parenting agreement by allegedly vacationing around Europe and Tinsel Town instead of participating in their agreed-upon therapy sessions.

She claimed her ex-husband "unilaterally decided to defer co-parenting therapy altogether until September because he was traveling to France in the month of July and because his brother will be visiting him in the month of August in Los Angeles."

"Olivier has effectively unilaterally decided to take 'the summer off,'" Berry alleged in the documents obtained by The New York Post. She noted their co-parenting therapy sessions were supposed to be completed by June 14, 2024; however, they had not started.

Berry painted Martinez as selfish and uncooperative, claiming that his "summer off" would delay their therapy sessions by months. "If Olivier gets his way, nothing will begin until at least September," she argued.

According to the actress, "none of this is good for the parties," nor was it beneficial to their son, Maceo. She also noted that it "causes further damage to the parties' already strained relationship."

Berry claimed she has "tried everything to foster a better co-parenting relationship with Olivier," but "rather than support, she is met with resistance and conflict." She bashed his nonchalant behavior, adding:

"To him, the terms of the parties' stipulated court orders are simply suggestions to follow when it benefits him and which he ignores when it does not fit his alienation agenda."

While Berry painted herself as a caring mother trying to have an amicable relationship with her son's father, Martinez saw her as his oppressor. In his response to her filing, he claimed she "knew" he would travel.

Martinez accused his ex-wife of torment, alleging that she "is constantly attempting to harass and strong-arm Respondent [Martinez] by forcing him into 'submission' using her wealth and the legal professionals at her disposal."

He implored the judge to disregard Berry's petition to force him into sticking to their co-parenting therapy schedule. The duo's disagreement comes three months after they agreed to work together.

According to legal documents obtained by The Blast in May, Berry and Martinez agreed to enter co-parenting therapy/coaching sessions for their son's well-being. They appointed Dr. Jaye-Jo Portanova as their therapist to improve their relationship.

The therapist's role, per the filing, was to "resolve disputes and conflicts between them in an effort to successfully co-parent the parties' minor child, Maceo Robert Martinez ("Maceo"), in a manner that promotes Maceo's best interest."

Berry and Martinez agreed to attend individual sessions with Dr. Portanova before the commencement of their joint co-parenting therapy/coaching. They were ordered to participate in no less than six joint sessions that must be completed by June 14.

Berry and Martinez started as a power couple, with their first meeting on the set of "Dark Tides" in July 2010. They began dating a month later and celebrated their engagement in January 2012.

They said their vows in Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France, in July 2013, three months after sources confirmed Berry's pregnancy. Their son, Maceo, was born that year's October and it seemed to be the last time the pair were amicable.

Divorce speculations started spreading in March 2014, and by August 2015, Berry had ditched her wedding ring. She and Martinez filed for divorce in October 2015, citing "irreconcilable differences."

"We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son," the former pair told E! News in a statement.
