Nicola Peltz Slams Dog Groomer With Lawsuit For Emotional Distress After Pet's Death

Nicola Peltz-Beckham is not letting her dog's death slide as she mourns its passing!

The model has decided to take the legal route in order to seek justice for her late dog, who passed after a visit to the groomer.

Nicola Peltz accused HoundSpa in her lawsuit for her chihuahua Nala's untimely death, specifically name-dropping a particular dog groomer.

The model claimed the groomer, Jony Ceballos, has a history of "intentional and malicious abuse of dogs" and continued that Nala acquired injuries and was subjected to severe physical distress after being taken for routine grooming in Houndspa's mobile van.

Peltz's grievance is with HoundSpa and its founder, Deborah "Deb" Gittleman, for keeping Jony on the roaster despite customers' past complaints about his animal mistreatment.

As for Peltz, she revealed that witnessing Nala die has left her emotionally distressed, as she had to rush him to the vet after the grooming.

She continued that she treated the pet like her own child, and her other dog, Angel, also suffered shakes and screams from terror during the grooming, and the events that led to Nala's death did not sit right with her,

Peltz also declared that she posted about Nala's passing to raise awareness but then decided to press charges when she discovered how many pet owners experienced the same at different groomers.

"I've dedicated most of my life to saving dogs and I can't in good conscience let this horrifying act happen to more families. I will work for changes and laws to help make sure no one else ever has to experience this heartbreak," declared the model.

Peltz is seeking compensatory damages as well as punitive damages over Nala's death, which she planned to donate to a dog rescue organization, per TMZ.

Peltz and Nala's bond was quite enviable. The emotional model took to social media to share a touching about her dog's final hours. The post dated June 16 had a lengthy caption that partly read:

"this has been the hardest month of my life. i can't even find the words to describe my heartbreak on so many levels. Nala was perfectly healthy when she went to the groomers yesterday but came out hyperventilating and couldn't catch her breath. we rushed her to the vet, and she passed hours later."

She continued that her decision to share the news was born out of concern to prevent that from happening to other dogs, adding that Nala's life was shortened by the unfortunate incident. The ending part of the caption read:

"she was my beautiful queen and stayed by my side for 9 years through everything. please be careful who you send your dogs to because you don't know what goes on behind closed doors. 1 day without nala on earth feels like an eternity. i wish i could have her back in my arms. i pray she's with my naunni. i hope i see them soon [broken heart emoji]."

The post gathered over 135k likes and thousands of comments from her followers, who empathized with her over the loss.

The 29-year-old and her boo had the sweetest words for each other as they reminisced about their relationship 3 years after Beckham popped the question.

The Blast reported that the football royalty expressed his love and gratitude for his model wife, whom he described as his best friend and everything he could ever ask for. In his words:

The lovebirds certainly have a penchant for written words, and they did not hold back on the occasion of their first wedding anniversary celebration. They took to Instagram to share their love through captions.

Beckham uploaded an adorable picture of himself and Peltz sharing a passionate kiss in the middle of a mall and wrote, "1 year ago today, I married my best friend. I am the luckiest person to call you my wife."

His wife popped up in the comments with a loving response of her own and wrote, "I love you soooo much!!This is so cute!!! I love being your wife."

Beckham and Peltz tied the knot in April 2022 and opened up about their desire to start a family, although they are not in a rush with the process.
