27-year-old Simone Biles is the latest hot topic after she made her epic return to the 2024 Paris Olympics, three years after taking a step back from the 2020 Tokyo Games, held in 2021, to prioritize her mental health.
Competing in Subdivision 2 on Sunday, Team USA finished with an outstanding score of 172.296, placing them more than five points ahead of Italy.
Several celebrities, including actor Tom Cruise and "Barbie" star Greta Gerwig, were among the crowd cheering for Simone Biles.

Both Tom Cruise and Greta Gerwig attended the Women's Gymnastics competition on Sunday, cheering on Simone Biles and the rest of Team USA. Cruise, no stranger to adrenaline-pumping stunts, was truly astonished by Simone Biles's and her fellow gymnasts' jaw-dropping performances.
“It’s awesome. Great stories, great athletes," he told Reuters inside the arena, per the Olympics blog. "It’s incredible what they have to do, the sense of accomplishment."
Women's gymnastics coach Cecille Landi praised Biles' qualifying performance and score, calling it "pretty amazing."
"59.5, and four-for-four," Landi said. "Not perfect. She still can improve ... just really good."

Simone Biles finished eighth on the uneven bars, scoring 14.433. Despite not placing in the top three in this event, she and Suni Lee brought their A-game in the rest of the events, scoring enough to secure spots in the individual all-around.
Plus, Team USA finished with an impressive 172.296 points, more than five points ahead of Italy. They will compete in Tuesday's team final.
Grammy winner Lady Gaga was in the stands on Sunday and later posted a video of Biles' beam routine to Instagram, captioning it: "She nailed it, what an honor to be so close!"
Did Simone Biles Perform The Uneven Bars Stunt She Submitted Last Week?
While the 27-year-old submitted an original skill on the uneven bars ahead of the Paris Olympics, she didn't seem to attempt it during her performance on Sunday.
The skill was a clear hip circle forward with 1.5 turns to handstand—a variation of the Weiler kip, named after Canadian gymnast Wilhelm Weiler.
Simone Biles May Have Suffered A Minor Injury During Warm-Ups
The 27-year-old Olympian appeared to have suffered a minor injury during her floor exercise warm up ahead of the competition. U.S. women's technical lead Chellsie Memmel said, “What [Biles] was able to do, with looking like she had some soreness or something in her lower leg, is remarkable."
Despite the minor setback, Biles "never in her mind" considered pulling out of the competition, according to her coach, Laurent Landi. He mentioned that the injury had also bothered Biles during training a couple of weeks ago but had improved until today's flare-up.
Fighting through the minor injury, Biles showcased an impressive performance and will be joined in the all-around final with her teammate, Suni Lee.
Lee, the reigning Olympic all-around champion, achieved a score of 56.132, narrowly surpassing Jordan Chiles, who earned a 56.065. Regrettably, with only two gymnasts per country allowed to advance to each final, Chiles missed out on qualifying by the slimmest of margins.
Team USA is also advancing, with a score of 172.296, securing the top spot on the leaderboard.
