The outpour of support for Harris began on Sunday, July 21, when Biden officially bowed out of the presidential race and endorsed the VP as his replacement.

Following his announcement, British pop star Charli XCX took to X to write, "Kamala IS brat," referring to the title of her sixth album.

Earlier in July, the "Boom Clap" hitmaker explained the meaning behind "brat" on her TikTok page. She described the word as a reference to a "very honest" and "very blunt" individual "who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes."

Charli XCX's "brat" is stylized in a lowercase black font over a neon green background, and this design was embodied by the official X page for Harris' campaign, @KamalaHQ. They changed their background image to "Kamala HQ" in the singer's black and green style.

Fellow singer Ariana Grande followed Charli XCX's subtle style and supported Harris on her Instagram Stories. She reposted Biden's endorsement of the VP alongside a voter registration link for her fans to follow.
