When appearing on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon," the host asked Reynolds if "Deadpool & Wolverine" was the greatest film he'd ever made, to which the actor responded, "I mean, look. Most of the time, when the movie is this much fun to make you f-cked up bad like something went wrong."

"You review the budget, and you're like, 'What's miscellaneous?' and you find out later, 'Oh, that's cocaine.' So like, 'Oh okay,'" he added as the audience laughed. "What was crazy about this one was it was the best filming experience I've ever had."

"You know, working with my basically ... Hugh and I, what you see is what you get, genuinely. He's been my closest friend for 17 years. Shawn Levy, this is our third movie together," Reynolds continued. "I have never felt a set closer that cared for each other more than this film. And the end product, or the final version, of this is better than anything I've ever done in my life, and I'm just thrilled."

"So, that's why we're everywhere; we're talking about this because we love it. We love what we get to do," the actor concluded.

“That movie, a lot of people don’t realize, was shot in the middle of a writers strike, one of the hardest ways to shoot a film you could ever imagine,” Reynolds told The Hollywood Reporter at the "Deadpool & Wolverine" premiere in New York. “I think the perseverance that you showed and everybody else," he said, pointing to Hugh Jackman, "also I got to watch the most classy, kind, intelligent, wickedly disciplined movie star welcome me onto a set, and I got to have that behavior modeled for me at a pretty formative time in my life, and I’m always grateful to Hugh for that.”

"Deadpool & Wolverine" is making history in the MCU as it marks the first R-rated feature in the franchise.

“We kept waiting for pushback. We would turn in drafts of the script, we would turn in cuts of the movie, and we waited for what we thought was the inevitable Disney or Marvel request to tone it down; those requests never came," director Shawn Levy admitted, per The Hollywood Reporter. "We had absolute creative freedom.”

When Disney acquired the property from Fox, the studio “had been very clear saying they were R-rated before, let this one be R-rated.” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said. “Ryan is the best arbiter of that. Ryan knows where the line is, and he goes right up to it and pulls himself back. But the line is far out there.”

At the "Deadpool & Wolverine" premiere in New York on Monday, the duo shared with Deadline their thoughts on the pressure to meet fans' "sky-high" expectations for finally bringing their characters together on the big screen.

“I think both of us had such high expectations for the movie,” Jackman said. “So, yeah there’s risk because we wanted this to exceed those expectations, and both of these characters mean so much to us. Our friendship is one of the most important things in my life. So, we wanted to be as great as we could be, and thankfully for me, it’s exceeded every one.”

Reynolds then added, “Those same tenants could be broadly applied to the audiences of these movies. I mean, their expectations are sky-high. And you can’t just meet them, you have to exceed them, not just in one sequence or broadly, in every moment of the movie."

"The thing I’m most proud of is every frame of 'Deadpool & Wolverine' is thoughtful in the sense that we spent so much time and so much detail, and paid so much attention to the detail in every single moment," he added. "And it just pays off."

"Deadpool & Wolverine" film will be released on July 26, 2024.
