Ryan Reynolds is famous for his witty charm; however, he stole fans' hearts in a different way on Monday.
At the world premiere of his new movie with Hugh Jackman, "Deadpool & Wolverine," the actor gave a heartfelt speech mixed with nervousness and the name of his fourth child.
Ryan Reynolds welcomed the bundle of joy with his wife, Blake Lively, in February 2023, but the famous couple kept the baby's name and sex hidden until now.
Ryan Reynolds Reveals The Name Of His Fourth Child
A fan video from Monday's premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine captured Reynolds' "nervous" intro speech, in which he raved about everyone who made the production a reality.
"I am so eternally grateful to those people, many of whom are sitting in this room or standing here on the stage," he began before shouting out his family, saying:
"And I just wanna start by saying thank you to my wife, Blake, who's here. Her outfit is amazing, spoiler alert. I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, and Olin."
"You know, if I'm lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing that is in the contents of this movie that happens in your wondrous life. But I love that my entire family is here," Reynolds gushed in the YouTube video.
Fans React Positively To Reynolds 'Nervous' Speech
The video received multiple comments from fans who noticed Reynolds seemed anxious while delivering his intro speech. Instead of criticizing him for not showing his usual confidence, they applauded this cute side of him.
"Ryan was extremely nervous, lol," someone noted, with a second agreeing that "Ryan sounds nervous, understandably." A third found his anxiety touching, writing:
"I think it's so adorable that Ryan is nervous cause he really does care about this movie as it's his passion, and I understand as a person with anxiety, talking about stuff or even the things you're passionate about is nerve-racking to do in front of a lot of people."
While many shared their two cents about Reynolds' nervous speech, one fan called attention to the namedrop most people missed. "Looking at the comments. I can tell nobody caught Ryan calling out his son's name," the individual penned.
While Reynolds did reveal the name of his fourth child, it is essential to note the baby's sex was not unveiled.
Reynolds Hoped To Be The 'Ultimate Girl Dad' With His Fourth Child
Before Reynolds welcomed his fourth child in 2023, The Blast reported that he hoped to become the "ultimate girl dad" with the baby's arrival. He shared his dreams in a candid interview on the "Today" show, raving:
"I know girls, so I'm sort of kind of hoping that, but I'm ready for whatever, whatever happens."
As the youngest of four mischievous boys in his family, Reynolds confessed that he hoped to avoid the troubles and mayhem that came with having sons. When host Jenna Bush Hager described him as the "ultimate girl dad," he happily agreed.
Reynolds and Lively announced they were expecting their fourth child uniquely when she debuted her baby bump in September 2022. The actress unveiled her pregnancy at the Forbes Power Women's Summit.
Hugh Jackman Teased Fans About The New' Deadpool' Movie
A month after Lively debuted her baby bump, Hugh Jackman gave fans another reason to be excited by teasing them about the new "Deadpool" movie. The Blast reported that he opened up about working with Reynolds and reviving his iconic Wolverine character.
"It's gonna be a blast! We like to call it Wolverine 10. That's what I like to call it," Jackman raved about the film before joking about his character's distaste for Reynolds Deadpool.
"I think being on set with [Ryan] every day and those two on film in every city together every day … I think it's fair to say they'll be punching the sh-t out of each other the whole time," he said, adding:
"All jokes aside, I'll probably have more fun on this movie than any other I've ever done."
Hugh Jackman And Ryan Reynolds Have A Longtime Feud
True to their fictional characters, Jackman and Reynolds have a longtime feud that began while filming "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" in 2009. They maintained this playful banter in the teaser video for "Deadpool 3."
Several fans were confused to see Jackman return as Wolverine since his character died in the movie "Logan." However, Reynolds clarified that the events in their new film occurred years before the fall of the X-Men team.
Congratulations to Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, and good touch on dropping the baby name like that, Mr Deadpool!
