Prince William's alleged reason for shutting the door on his brother, Prince Harry's possible return to the royal fold has been explained.

Reports claim that the Prince of Wales was reportedly more upset with Harry than he let on and wanted to avoid being "continually annoyed" by his brother's future actions.

This revelation comes after a royal expert shared that Prince Harry has taken a "tough" stand regarding matters surrounding Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.

William's brother, Harry, has been estranged from the royal family since retiring from his senior royal role in 2020 and moving to California with his wife, Meghan Markle.

His relationship with the Palace worsened with the release of his bombshell documentary, "Harry and Meghan," and his memoir "Spare," as both projects divulged sensitive details that the royal family didn't want out in public.

Recently, reports emerged that William had placed an "absolute ban" on his brother, Harry, from "returning in any way, shape or form into his former royal family fold."

The reason is now being attributed to William's inability to let go of the hurt caused by Harry's past actions.

According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, the Prince of Wales' relationship with his brother "upset him" much more than he could admit.

Seward told The Mirror that the possibility of causing William more hurt in the future made the heir apparent feel it was "easier to cut ties" with Harry.

She said, "William is sensitive, he likes structure and has perseverance. He does not give up easily. His relationship with brother Harry upset him more than he would care to admit. But he found it easier to cut ties rather than allow himself to be continually annoyed."

Prince William Hasn't Communicated With Prince Harry Since His Memoir and Documentary Release

Earlier in the month, another royal commentator, Dee Dee Dunleavy, claimed William is the "tough guy of the royal family," hinting at why he has taken a strong stance against reconciling with his brother.

"William's taken on the role that Prince Phillip had, he was the tough guy. I can see William's point of view as well, he's more protective of the upset that Harry caused while the Queen was in her dying weeks," Dunleavy told Sky News Australia.

The royal commentator added that William and Harry have not communicated since the latter's memoir and Netflix documentary debuted.

She said, "To this day, after the release of 'Spare' and the Netflix serial, as well as with everything else Harry has said, done, and not done, it's Prince William who adamantly refuses to even speak to his brother."

Despite the alleged ban on Prince Harry's return to the royal fold and his resignation from his senior royal position, the Invictus Games founder still retains his royal title of Duke of Sussex.

However, a few months back, discussions arose about the possibility of him and his wife being stripped of their titles after they took a trip to Nigeria.

At the time, a royal expert claimed that it was unlikely to happen because King Charles and Prince William were worried about potential backlash on the Palace.

"They are terrified this would backfire and make the situation worse," royal expert Tom Quinn told the Mirror. "The last thing they want is to give the renegade royals something else to complain about."

He added, "William and his father know that even without their royal titles, Meghan and Harry would carry on traveling the world as if they were royals, and most people in the world will still welcome them."

Recently, it was speculated that Harry might release another memoir if William continues to "keep him at arm's length."

According to the Express, such a book is believed to be planned for release between their father's passing and William's ascension to the throne.

Although Harry has yet to confirm whether he is currently working on a follow-up memoir, the content to produce one isn't lacking. The Invictus Games founder previously revealed that he had cut down half of the first draft of "Spare" prior to its publication.

At the time, Harry claimed that he reduced the book's content because he feared his family would never "forgive" him if he published those memories.

"There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don't want the world to know," Harry said in an interview with The Telegraph's Bryony Gordon. "Because I don't think they would ever forgive me."

Royal commentator Jennie Bond disclosed that the Prince of Wales is bent on keeping it that way, as he has now taken a decisive stance on the issue.

"William has always been a strong character," Bond told OK! Magazine. "I think his broken childhood made him tough and resolute. He now has the reputation of being stubborn and, once his mind is made up, he sticks to his decision."

She continued, "He is definitely someone who commands respect within the family and whose views hold considerable sway. Obviously, as heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family and I think it's true that he has been prepared to take a tough stand on a number of issues, including [Princes] Andrew and Harry."
