On Monday night, Ingrid Andress was a hot topic on social media after she gave an attention-grabbing performance of the National Anthem at MLB's Home Run Derby.

Although the performance went viral, it wasn't for the reasons Andress had hoped; many quickly compared it to Fergie's controversial 2018 rendition.

On Tuesday, Ingrid Andress, a four-time GRAMMY nominee, released a statement regarding her National Anthem performance, claiming she was drunk and is now checking herself into rehab.

After performing "The Star Spangled Banner" at Monday's Home Run Derby at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, she released a statement on social media.

"I'm not gonna bullsh-t y'all, I was drunk last night," she wrote in a statement on Instagram. "I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I'll let y'all know how rehab is I hear it's super fun."

After reading the apology, Julia Michaels expressed her support. "Love you girl," she said, per Entertainment Tonight. "I'm sorry you're going through this. And I'm sorry the world can be so cruel. Here for you xx."

Other Country Artists Speak Out Regarding The National Anthem Performance

Brothers Osborne took to social media to support the country music singer, suggesting that technical problems caused the iffy performance.

"I know everyone is here for laughs, but as someone who has seen her sing many times live, she is incredibly talented," Brothers Osborne said. "Not sure what happened here, but I'd bet the farm there were huge technical problems with her monitors."

Breland also defended the country music artist. "I'd just like to remind everyone that @ingridandress is an amazing vocalist who I've enjoyed singing with every time I've had the opportunity," they said. "That is all."

Andress achieved double platinum status with her breakthrough single "More Hearts Than Mine" in 2019.

After the performance went viral, several users spoke out about Andress's National Anthem rendition, including the Bartlett Police.

"Please note anyone who doesn’t wear their seat belt or speeds through Bartlett will be forced to listen to 4 x Grammy nominee Ingrid Andress’ home run derby performance again," they said in an X post, completely roasting Andress.

Another X user wrote, "I'm so sorry, I'm sure Ingrid Andress is a wonderful person, but that was one of the worst national anthems I think I've ever heard in my whole life."

"It is impressive that this Ingrid Andress has missed every single note. That was painful," a third said after hearing the performance.

Ingrid Andress Slammed For Her National Anthem Performance

She soon began trending on X, with most social media users slamming the country music artist and mocking her after hearing her sing.

"That might have been the worst national anthem performance ever," one X user wrote.

"I’m not a singer, but I could sing better than Ingrid Andress," another said.

As a third sarcastically wrote, "That anthem was interesting. Sung by Ingrid Andress, it brought a fresh perspective and emotional depth to the song, showing her unique way of singing and rendering music."

Ingrid Andress To Release New Music

Before the National Anthem performance, Ingrid Andress announced she would be releasing a new single.

"Greetings to everyone that has a pulse. I truly love you all so much. I've been absent for a minute, but I’m so stoked to announce that my new single 'Colorado 9' comes out on July 24th," she wrote on Instagram. "To celebrate, I’m playing two very special shows, one in Nashville, this Wednesday, July 17th, at Row One, and one in Denver on Wednesday, July 24th, at Globe Hall."

It is unclear if these scheduled performances will still happen.

"Thank you for being here for me even though I’ve been living under a rock. Y’all are the best and I can’t wait to see you at my shows (stay tuned for more show announcements soon)."
