Snoop Dogg's newest venture, his first licensed cannabis store, S.W.E.D., located in Los Angeles, CA, had people from near and far attending the grand opening this past weekend.

S.W.E.D., which stands for Snoop's popular saying, "Smoke Weed Every Day," was packed on Sunday during the grand opening event, and The Blast was there to experience it all firsthand.

During the opening event, Snoop's dad, Pop Snoop, quickly chatted with The Blast to share how proud he is of all his son has accomplished, as well as his thoughts on the newly opened store.

Vernell Varnado, or Pop Snoop, is a proud papa for sure. During the grand opening event for S.W.E.D., he was on hand talking to everyone, answering questions, and taking photos. When approached by The Blast, he was happy to share his thoughts on his son's new cannabis store.

"I like the whole thing. I like the setup, I like the booth, and I like the old-school stuff," he told The Blast exclusively. "This store has a different vibe, but the good part about it is it's in the hood. That's what I like about it."

Pop Snoop also shared that he told his son when he was younger to be better than him and be above it all, and that's just what Snoop did.

"People give him a bad rap, but he always seems to just keep moving," Pop Snoop said. "As a father, I respect him more because he always gives back."

On Sunday afternoon, S.W.E.D. hosted a grand opening celebration that brought hundreds of cannabis and Snoop fans out to see what it's all about.

Snoop arrived at the store around 3 p.m. and headed right for the unique DJ booth to spin some tunes, dance around, and of course, smoke some weed.

The new store, conveniently located between LAX Airport and SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, is positioned to be a new cultural hub offering top-tier premium products and services, as well as celebrating Snoop's most memorable moments in music and beyond.

The store boasts graffitied walls, the iconic wooden Death Row Records chair, premium cannabis products, and a unique DJ booth so when Snoop visits, he can do what he loves best.

While at the grand opening event, The Blast had a chance to tour the store and see all the great Snoop memorabilia.

Not a cannabis fan? It's still worth a visit, especially if you're a Snoop fan! The vibe of the store is welcoming, trendy, bright, and memorable. From the Snoop mural on the wall to the graffiti and the DJ booth, it's something that needs to be experienced in person to get the full feel of it.

During the event, guests were treated to freshly made lattes, mini pancakes with fruit toppings, and ice cream. (And for inquiring minds...none of it was cannabis-infused, and all of it was delicious!)

When Snoop arrived, he headed straight for his special DJ booth so he could light one up and get the party started with some music. He danced around the DJ booth with a smile on his face and interacted with all the fans watching.

Snoop owning his very own cannabis store probably comes as no surprise to any of his fans. He's been a longtime connoisseur and even launched his own cannabis brand after acquiring Death Row Records in late 2022.

"I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant SnoopDeath Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value," Snoop told NPR at the time. "It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me."

Shortly after, the label officially launched its own cannabis brand, and the first drop happened in early 2023.

Snoop Is Getting Ready To Head To Paris For The Olympics

Snoop's next big adventure is about to get going as he will be covering the Olympic Games in Paris for NBC.

One question on many people's minds is how Snoop will handle not being allowed any weed while in Paris.

"Trust me, I'm a very legal guy. I plan on going out there and doing NBC Olympic work," he recently told Time magazine. "Being clean as a book, clean as the athletes. They can test me if they want to. I'm going out there doing what I'm supposed to be doing to make sure I bring home the gold. Which is me."

For Snoop, having a love for the Olympics since childhood means this is an especially exciting gig.

"There was only one TV in the house, so whatever one member of the family was watching, we were all forced to watch it. The Olympics was big because it would take over the whole house whenever it would come on," he said. "And it's special cause you're seeing athletes for the first time in three, four years and they're representing the country. So that means a lot, watching it as a kid."
