Snoop Dogg Launched His Own Cannabis Brand After Acquiring Death Row Records
Snoop owning a cannabis store should come as no surprise to anyone. He’s been a longtime connoisseur and after acquiring Death Row Records in late 2022, launched his own cannabis brand.
“I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant SnoopDeath Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value,” Snoop told NPR at the time.
“It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me.”
Not long after, the label officially launched its own cannabis brand. According to AFROTECH, a press release revealed that in January 2023 the first drop would happen.
Getting Ready For The 2024 Paris Olympics
Not long after the grand opening event for S.W.E.D., Snoop will be off to Paris to cover the Olympic Games for NBC. With weed not legal in France, will that be a thorn in the rapper’s side?
“Trust me, I’m a very legal guy. I plan on going out there and doing NBC Olympic work,” he told Time magazine. "Being clean as a book, clean as the athletes. They can test me if they want to. I’m going out there doing what I’m supposed to be doing to make sure I bring home the gold. Which is me.”
When asked about his love for the Olympics, Snoop explained that when he was a child, the family only had one TV and the Olympics would “take over the whole house.”
“There was only one TV in the house, so whatever one member of the family was watching, we were all forced to watch it. The Olympics was big because it would take over the whole house whenever it would come on,” he said.
“And it’s special cause you’re seeing athletes for the first time in three, four years and they’re representing the country. So that meant a lot, watching it as a kid.”
