During his press conference, President Joe Biden suffered a major gaffe as he called his predecessor, Donald Trump, the "vice president" twice.
The event, which has been dubbed his "big boy" press conference, was initially scheduled for 5:30 pm. but was moved to 6:30 pm.
It comes after Joe Biden's disastrous performance during the presidential debate with Donald Trump.
President Joe Biden Calls Donald Trump The 'Vice President'
During his press conference, which was met with significant delays, Biden suffered a major gaffe as he called Trump, his predecessor, the vice president.
He said, "Look, I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be Vice President because I think she's not qualified to be president. Let's start there."
The shocking gaffe comes after he called himself the "first black woman to serve with a black president."

The 81-year-old president was trying to highlight his historical role as Barack Obama's vice president and Kamala Harris' selection as his own vice president, but his words came out jumbled.
"By the way, I'm proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, first black woman, to serve with a black president," Biden told host Andrea Lawful-Sanders, per the New York Post.
President Joe Biden's Press Conference Delay Raised Eyebrows
President Biden caused many on social media to worry due to his delayed appearance at his press conference.
The event comes after his abysmal performance during a presidential debate with former President Donald Trump, which has now led to increased calls for Biden to withdraw from the 2024 race.
According to a White House official who spoke to the New York Post, the press conference was delayed "due to [the] NATO schedule," which also started later than it was supposed to on Thursday.
Due to the heightened calls for his withdrawal, many wonder about the reason for the press conference.
"I feel like the narrative needs to change. So either Dems need to get behind Biden or he needs to step aside. But we are losing time," a Democratic source told the news outlet. "His press conference is another make-or-break moment."
The source further noted that there are no signs that Biden and his team plan to drop out of the 2024 race.
"I have heard folks around him are more dug in," the source continued. "It's just hard to know because the circle is getting smaller."
Joe Biden's Campaign Defends His Debate Performance
President Biden's recent blunders have led to increased scrutiny of his age, especially after his poor debate performance against Trump last month.
After the shocking incident, Ammar Moussa, a spokesperson for Biden's campaign, took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the media for focusing on Biden's errors.
Moussa called the media's criticism "absurd," arguing that such gaffes are part of Biden's long-standing speaking style.
He stated, "It was abundantly clear what the president meant. This would be considered a perfectly normal speech pattern for any other person in America and has certainly been normal for Joe Biden for his entire career."
Joe Biden's Wife Faces Pressure To Urge Him To Quit Presidential Race
Political experts seem to believe that Biden's wife, Dr. Jil Biden, has the final say on whether her husband runs and that she's not willing to give up the office of first lady without a fight.
Christopher Phelps, an expert on US politics at the University of Nottingham, told the Daily Mail that he expects Jill and the Biden family to be "resistant" to calls for the president to step aside following his lackluster debate with Donald Trump.
"She is a close counsel of Joe Biden and his ardent supporter, both personally and politically. She was reputedly crucial to Biden's decision to run again, and she will undoubtedly be crucial in the coming days as pressure mounts on Biden to withdraw," Phelps shared.
The eminent historian went on, "The fact that Joe Biden won the presidency in the first place, and now has clocked millions and millions of primary votes, means that there will be a natural resistance in the family to any idea that Biden should quit now, just because of one poor debate performance. But no one knows the conversations that are going on over the pillows in the White House."
Barack Obama Defends Joe Biden After Poor Debate Performance
Following his debate performance, Biden's close friend, ex-President Barack Obama, took to X to show his support, noting that the 81-year-old's "bad debate night" shouldn't be a reason not to vote for him during the November elections.
"Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know. But this election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself," Obama wrote.
He continued, "Between someone who tells the truth; who knows right from wrong and will give it to the American people straight — and someone who lies through his teeth for his own benefit. Last night didn't change that, and it's why so much is at stake in November."
