Experts have claimed that the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, intends to release a follow-up memoir in the future.
The former senior royal already has one memoir, Spare, in which he discusses several personal details about his life, including his strained relationship with his stepmother, Queen Camilla.
Prince Harry has yet to reveal whether a new memoir is already in the works; however, experts think that the Invictus founder intends to release one after the death of his father, King Charles III, especially if his relationship with his brother, Prince William, does not improve.
Experts Claim Prince Harry Will Release New Memoir After The Death Of The King
When "Spare" debuted in January last year, its shocking revelations rattled both royal family followers and the royals. Harry spared no detail in expressing his strained relationship with his family, making for a gripping and candid read for those who purchased the book.
To the surprise of many, it turned out that Harry had cut down half of the first draft for the final content. He also confirmed that he had enough content for two books.
While the Duke hasn't revealed if he is currently working on a follow-up memoir, experts predict another one may be released in the future.
"I do think he would write about his family again," said royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, per the Express. "I suspect that maybe he would release a book after his father passed away."
Schofield also added that the release of such a book would be more likely if Harry's brother, Prince William, continued to "keep [him] at arm's length."
Prince Harry Cut Content From His First Book to Prevent Irreparable Rift with Family
Days after Spare's debut, Harry told The Telegraph's Bryony Gordon that he reduced the book's content because he feared his family man would never "forgive" him if he published those memories.
"There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don't want the world to know," the Invictus founder said. "Because I don't think they would ever forgive me."
Despite the words being cut down, what was left behind was quite damning. This included accusations from Harry that his stepmother, Queen Camilla, sacrificed him on her personal P.R. altar. He also described her as "dangerous" and "the villain," seemingly confirming to the world that they had a strained relationship.
Harry also took a shot at his brother, Prince William, recalling a fight he had with him over the disparaging remarks the latter used on his wife, Meghan Markle, per Today. He claimed that William had called the former actress "difficult," "rude," and abrasive." adding that he "parroted the press narrative."
The Duke of Sussex Was Recently Warned Against Publishing A New Memoir
Experts have also claimed that Harry would have to abandon any idea of publishing a new memoir if he plans to repair the rift between his family and the Palace.
"I can't imagine that Harry would contemplate a follow-up to 'Spare,'" royal expert Jennie Bond said in an interview with OK! Magazine. "He has indicated that he wants to move on: he has said his piece, vented his anger, and faced the consequences."
If Harry does publish a follow-up, Bond believes that the Palace would take the approach of a "continued dignified silence" while slamming the Palace doors on any "hope of future reconciliation."
King Charles Asked Prince Harry To Desist From Leaking Personal Information About Royals
Spare wasn't the only project from Harry that spotlighted his strained relationship with his family.
His docuseries, "Harry and Meghan," which debuted in December 2022, also inflicted its own damage, as it highlighted the issues and controversies that led to his and his wife's resignation from their royal roles and move to the U.S.A.
The Invictus founder has also held a couple of damning interviews across the years, including his bombshell appearance on Oprah.
According to reports, King Charles is tired of Prince Harry revealing personal details about the family and has ordered him to refrain from doing so.
"Harry has been asked directly by his father not to write or say publicly anything further about the family or his brother that might cause trouble," royal expert Tom Quinn told the Mirror. "And everyone knows that when a king asks you to do something, there are going to be consequences if you do not obey."
Prince Harry Needs To Make A 'Public Statement' Before Reconciling With The Royals
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been embroiled in a very public rift with the royal family in the years following their relocation to the United States after quitting their royal duties in 2020 to pursue a more private life.
According to the New York Post, royal expert Grant Harrold has revealed one major condition the Duke must fulfill to rejoin the royal family.
"The only way I see this happening is a public statement from Harry, where you come out and say that you were in a bad space and that [Spare] was a mistake," Harrold said.
