Britney Spears Bailed On Paris Hilton’s Wedding, She Wasn’t Emotionally Ready

In 2007, the “Criminal” singer made headlines when she shaved her head months before her conservatorship started. In her memoir “The Woman In Me,” which was published in October 2023, the pop star opened up on why she decided to cut her hair.

“I’d been eyeballed so much growing up. I’d been looked up and down and had people telling me what they thought of my body since I was a teenager. Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back,” she wrote in an excerpt published by People magazine.

I had to go to bed early and take whatever medication they told me to take.”

In 2007, Britney walked into Esther’s Haircutting Studio in Tarzana, California, and asked that they shave her head. After the owner, Esther Tognozzi, refused to do so, the pop star grabbed the clippers herself and started shaving her head while paparazzi snapped photos through the window.

Shortly after her memoir was published in October 2023, her former assistant Sean Phillip spoke to the Daily Mail about working with the Princess of Pop. “For me personally, I did see a sad person… I was worried for her, I felt protective of her at the time,” Sean said. “It wasn't a job anymore. It was protection in a friendship kind of way.”

However, Sean said that Britney refused to go in. “We were told that she was being sued by her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and that we had to take her to a facility and she agreed to go to a facility and we went,” he recalled. “But she had to check herself in voluntarily and when we got there, she didn't want to do it and nobody could make her do it.”
