Gypsy Rose Blanchard, 32, has been the center of controversy since she was released on parole in December 2023.

As The Blast reported, the ex-convict spent the last eight and a half years locked up after she pled guilty to the second-degree murder of her mom, Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard. After her story was told and people learned that she is believed to be a victim of Munchausen by proxy, she gained millions of fans.

However, some claim that Gypsy's behavior is a scam and that she has manipulated parts of her story to gain sympathy. One of her cellmates is now addressing those claims and revealing what Gypsy Rose Blanchard was truly like behind bars.

The 32-year-old's case gained widespread attention due to the severe abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother, Dee Dee. The abuse, which is believed to be a case of Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSBP), involved Dee Dee fabricating and inducing illnesses in Gypsy from a young age.

Not only did Dee Dee convince medical professionals and others that Gypsy suffered from a variety of chronic conditions and disabilities, including leukemia, muscular dystrophy, and seizures, but she also claimed her daughter had the mental capacity of a child due to brain damage.

As a result, Gypsy underwent numerous unnecessary medical treatments and surgeries, including being fed through a feeding tube, having her salivary glands removed, and being confined to a wheelchair despite being able to walk.

The truth began to unravel after Gypsy started an online relationship with Nicholas Godejohn. They conspired to murder Dee Dee, and the plan was carried out in 2015. After Dee Dee was found stabbed to death in her bedroom, Gypsy and Nicholas were arrested.

Gypsy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2016 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Nicholas Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

What Was Gypsy Rose Blanchard Like In Prison?

After two of Gypsy's alleged cellmates came forward last week, accusing the ex-convict of bragging about her mother's murder while behind bars, another one of her cell partners broke her silence, claiming that couldn't be further from the truth.

The former inmate took to TikTok to share what it was like bunking with Gypsy. "She was actually my roommate for a very short period of time, but I lived down the wing with her several times off and on throughout the years," the TikTok user, who goes by Tuesday Sparks, revealed.

After hearing the backlash Gypsy has received and after listening to a podcast, she decided to break her silence and defend the 32-year-old.

"I honestly have no idea why people feel so strongly about other people when they don't know them," she said in her video. "My opinion and in time knowing her, Gypsy is such a sweet girl"

"I know that she did what she did, and it was wrong; I did what I did, and it was wrong," Tuesday Sparks went on before discussing Gypsy's childhood and the abuse she endured. "Nothing in her life was normal, ever, from a very young age, so I definitely think she acted irrationally, but that's what she's seen her whole life."

She also pointed out how Gypsy is being "berated" by people who "literally hate her." In response to the backlash the 32-year-old has faced, her former cellmate wants to reveal the truth about Gypsy.

"I will say, she's very sweet and kind, and she would give anybody anything," Tuesday Sparks revealed. "She was very childlike in prison, but she also stood firm in what she believed, and she didn't let people push her around."

"I'm not saying she was a bully by any means, but when she was being treated unfairly, she definitely spoke up on it," she added.

After seeing the video, Gypsy Rose responded, thanking her for speaking out. "FINALLY words from someone who ACTUALLY knew me in prison," she commented. "So many want to slander my character out to simply be recognized. Tuesday, thanks, girl, for telling the truth."

Tuesday Sparks replied to her former cellmate, "You’re welcome, girl. It’s so awesome to me to see you out here thriving like you are, doing all the things we talked about. Idk why there’s so much ugliness in the world Gyps, but you're beautiful."
