Former First Lady Melania Trump is set to dip her toes back into the world of politics as she plans another fundraising event for Log Cabin Republicans.
The event will be the second time Melania is hosting the Republican LGBTQ group after inviting them to her Mar-a-Lago residence earlier this year amid her husband, Donald Trump's re-election campaign.
These fundraising events have been Melania Trump's way of publicly showing her support for her husband's second-term dreams after her noticeable absence from the campaign trail.
Melania Trump To Host Second Fundraiser For Log Cabin Republicans
Melania is set to host a second fundraising event for the largest Conservative LGBTQ+ group known as the Log Cabin Republicans.
According to an invite for the fundraiser obtained by Politico, the Slovenian-born former model is branded as the headliner for "the nation's largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBT conservatives and allies."
The date for the $100,000-per-head event has also been slated for July 8.
This fundraiser comes after Melania's noticeable absence from the Trump campaign trail and her decision not to attend any of her husband's court trials.
Melania Trump Is 'Opening Her Home' To The LGBTQ Group
Morgan Ortagus, a Trump-era State Department spokesperson, told the Daily Mail that Melania is opening up her home for the LGBTQ+ group to hold their fundraiser, as she has always been supportive of the group.
She said, "While this is Mrs. Trump's second event in 2024 for Log Cabin, she's participated in many events for Log Cabin over the years. [T]he event in NYC is in her home. So not only is she helping Log Cabin, she is opening her home to them."
"As a longtime supporter of Log Cabin Republicans, it is encouraging to see the former President and former First Lady setting the tone in our party to support an organization that is virtual to our grassroots efforts, to winning the youth vote, and to winning the general election in November," Ortagus added.
The Former First Lady Hosted The Likes Of Caitlyn Jenner In April
In April, Melania made her grand return to politics by hosting some Hollywood celebrities and prominent GOP members for the Log Cabin Republicans at her Mar-a-lago residence.
The event, which was held at the Tea Room of the private Palm Beach Club, hosted about 60 guests, with Bill White and Bryan Eure serving as co-hosts.
Celebrities in attendance included Caitlyn Jenner, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Elizabeth Ailes, and other Palm Beach and NYC GOP bigshots.
Ticket prices reportedly went as high as $50,000, with the proceeds being earmarked for Trump and other Republican party candidates' 2024 election bids.
The Event Raised Funds To 'Inform Voters In Crucial Swing States' About Donald Trump's 'LGBT Record'
Trump's ambassador to Germany and former director of national intelligence, Richard Grenell, reportedly "presided over the event and introduced Mrs. Trump to the podium."
A source told Page Six that the event was "raising funds to inform voters in crucial swing states about President Trump's LGBT record and his goals for his second term."
"Grenell unveiled [Melania's] leadership role in what will be an unprecedented outreach initiative to gay and lesbian voters… the most significant of any Republican presidential candidate in American history," an attendee shared.
Melania Trump Has Yet To Speak On Her Husband's Guilty Verdict
According to People magazine, Melania would likely not break her silence on her husband's guilty verdict in order to avoid drawing attention to herself and her son, Barron.
Trump was found guilty of 34 felony charges for falsifying business records to hide hush money payments made to former adult film star Stormy Daniels.
The former first lady, who is understood to be keeping the 18-year-old high school graduate in a protective "bubble" at their sprawling Mar-a-Lago estate, reportedly believes that Trump's hush money trial is a ploy to get at him.
"Melania believes this is a political assassination, but she knows exactly who she married," a source shared, going on to add that "for this reason, she has chosen to stay away from media attention to protect herself and her son Barron."
A second political source told the publication that it "is very unlikely she will say much about this unless the comment would be about a political witch hunt, which she definitely believes to be true."
"She will probably always be mad at him for many of the things he does," the source added. "But since she has carved out a life that does not include him all of the time, she is able to deal with it."
