The Blast

The burglary and vandalism at Dog The Bounty Hunter's family store is more personal than first believed, because investigators believe it may have been an inside job.

Law enforcement sources tell The Blast, police have "several leads" on who may be responsible for breaking into Dog and Beth Chapman's souvenir shop in Edgewater, Colorado.

We're told officials are narrowing their focus to individuals with knowledge of the inter-workings of the store and operations.

As we reported, the suspect, or suspects, broke into the store last week by smashing through the front door and targeting several merchandise items of "high value," as well as priceless family heirlooms.

Furniture was also stolen before the suspect exited out the back of the store.

During the burglary, parts of the store were vandalized, which included drawing on the toilet in the restroom, and smashing the printer.

We're told the crime was very specific and that the perp seemed "very financially and emotionally driven."

The emotional factor was also determined because Beth's memorial had been targeted, which resulted in several of her personal items and bounty hunting gear getting jacked.

The suspect also smashed a wooden elephant given to Dog by his mother, and left it out on the floor damaged.

The Blast

On Friday, investigators released a picture to the public of a possible suspect.

The Chief of Police in Edgewater said in a press conference, he conducted with Dog and his family, the suspect had a large backpack, was in the store for a short amount of time and left without anything in his hands.

Unfortunately, officials believe some of the stolen items may already been sold on online.

We're told investigators also believe there may have been two break-ins to the store.

We're told the first group made their way through the store looting and damaging property, before a second person showed up and picked off from the damage.

Police believe the man with the backpack may have loaded up after he already saw that the store was broken into.

The Blast

In a statement to The Blast, Dog and his family said "Not only did the thieves take thousands of dollars of clothing, these criminals took priceless personal belongings of our beloved Beth, including tributes to her kindly left by our amazing fans."

He said, "We are working with our friends in law enforcement to find these perpetrators, and are offering a cash reward to anyone who provides information about their identity. To who ever did this, you better watch out. Dog is coming for you."

Chapman also announced that he informed the police not to press charges if the perps turn themselves in within 48 hours.

The Blast first reported the unfortunate break in, and obtained photos of the aftermath.

The crime comes just weeks after the matriarch of the bounty hunting family Beth Chapman, who died in June after battling cancer.
