Sarah Ferguson wants to be on Netflix's hit series "Bridgerton" and has the perfect role in mind.
The Duchess of York, nicknamed Fergie, recently pitched herself for a part in the regency romance show during an appearance on "Good Morning Britain."
Sarah Ferguson's desire to appear on "Bridgerton" is not surprising, as she has made cameo appearances on shows like "Friends" and "The Vicar Of Dibley."
Sarah Ferguson Wants To Play Lady Penelope's Redhaired Friend
A snippet from Ferguson's latest interview was shared on TikTok, capturing the moment she pitched herself for a part in the Netflix series. "I want to be on Bridgerton. Susanna, let's go on Bridgerton," she excitedly told "Good Morning Britain" co-host Susanna Reid.
However, the presenter passed on the offer, stressing that the Duchess of York was more likely to get a role on "Bridgerton." As for who Ferguson wished to portray on the show, she had a soft spot for Season 3's star, Penelope Featherington.
"I think Lady Penelope should have a friend who's got red hair like me," Ferguson declared, to which Reid agreed, saying: "Well, perfect. Let's get in touch with Shonda Rhimes and put you on."
"I'm putting it out there," the royal member added, with Reid pushing her for a spot in the program's "next series." Ferguson wasn't alone in thinking she would be perfect on "Bridgerton" as fans rallied in her support.
'Bridgerton' Fans Want The Duchess Of York On The Show
The video blew up with hundreds of supportive messages from "Bridgerton" viewers. Many believed that rather than a friend, Ferguson would be better at portraying Lady Penelope's aunt.
One fan offered a plot twist, writing, "The aunt who supposedly died and left them the money, and she shows up for a surprise visit!!" Another supporter echoed, "She could be like Penelope's cool auntie or something. I can see it now."
"'Susannah, let's go on Bridgerton'..... Oh, how she said this.. love it!" a third chimed, while a fourth penned, "Oh my goodness!!!! Yesssss!!! What we never knew we needed!!! Shonda Rhimes, please!!!!"
The pleas for Ferguson's part in "Bridgerton" continued, with a social media user declaring, "If they put Fergie on Bridgerton, my life would be complete. She could be the aunt!!!"

Earlier in June, Netflix released the trailer for the second half of "Bridgerton" season 3. The story follows Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (portrayed by Luke Newton) preparing for their wedding.
However, Lady Penelope fears that her plans may be ruined by Eloise Bridgerton (played by Claudia Jesse), who knows her secret identity as the gossip wordsmith, Lady Whistledown.
Eloise hints at knowing Penelope's identity at a ball where she toasts the couple and dedicates it to "Truly knowing each other completely."
The nerve-wracking moment implies the second half of "Bridgerton" season 3 will follow Penelope fighting to keep her identity or risk losing her marriage to Colin,per Variety.

Part 1 of "Bridgerton" season 3 followed Colin helping Penelope in her search for a husband. Their partnership nearly saw her falling in love with Lord Debling (played by Sam Phillips).
However, the pair eventually grew closer, their feelings for each other spilling out in a steamy scene. This moment seemingly influenced Colin's proposal to Penelope while unaware of her secret identity.
The first half, featuring four episodes, was released on May 16. It received the largest debut in the series' history, with over 41 million views within the first four days of streaming.
Meanwhile, the second half of "Bridgerton" season 3 also features four episodes, and itis scheduled to air on June 13.
Sarah Ferguson Addressed Her Second Cancer Diagnosis
In January, The Blast reported that Ferguson opened up about her second cancer diagnosis in an emotional statement on Instagram. She assured fans she wouldn't let her health ruin her positive mindset and thanked them for their well wishes. She wrote:
"I have been taking some time to myself as I have been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, my second cancer diagnosis within a year after I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer and underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery."
"It was thanks to the great vigilance of my dermatologist that the melanoma was detected when it was," the Duchess of York continued, adding:
"Naturally, another cancer diagnosis has been a shock, but I'm in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support."
