‘Empire’ Star Gabby Sidibe Says Her New Born Twins Are 'Strong And Hilarious'

Gabby Sidibe's twins have arrived, and they are already keeping the new mom on her toes!

The "Empire" star is giving fans a glimpse into her life with two little ones, and it sounds like double the cuteness brings double the chaos. She describes them as both "strong and hilarious," adding to the excitement of this new chapter in her life.

Gabby Sidibe, who secretly married her longtime boyfriend Brandon Frankel over two years ago has low-key welcomed her newborns.

According to Sidibe, the twins' names carry special significance, with Cooper being a longtime favorite of Brandon's and Maya named just before their baby moon to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. 

She pointed out that "Both twins have traditional West African middle names" honoring Sidibe's family members.

The couple's journey into parenthood took a surprising turn when what was meant to be a "routine appointment" ended with the news that the twins would be arriving that very day.  

The 41-year-old noted that every day has been an adventure for the new parents since their bundle of joy's arrival.

Describing her bundles of joy as "both extremely strong and hilarious," Sidibe noted that while the twins "have yet to really interact with each other," they each have unique and endearing traits. The doting mom told The Shade Room:

"Cooper will sometimes speak for Maya and alert us that she's about to spit up. Maya loves her name being sung to her and is the queen of comedic timing, and Cooper loves his sleep and has the funniest facial expressions. They both love cuddling with Mom and Dad."

The actress also added that the "biggest surprise" for the new parents was the "loud and chaotic" nature of their babies' sleep.

"'Active sleep' is pretty wild," Sidibe said, adding, "it was a surprise to see how little they've acknowledged each other outside the womb when they seemed to interact so much inside."

Sidibe delighted fans by sharing the first photos of her newborn twins, Cooper and Maya. The images captured the joyous moments of Sidibe and her husband, with their adorable bundles of joy.

In addition to the heartwarming photos, Sidibe offered valuable advice for parents expecting twins: "Get them on the same schedule. It's a must!" 

She also expressed her excitement about the journey ahead as new parents, stating, "We're excited for outfits and getting them dressed up, for sing-alongs, trips and to explore, and raising them to be good people."

Sidibe's joyous welcome of her twins in April comes two years after her secret marriage to Frankel in 2022. 

The Blast noted that the private couple had managed to keep their marital bliss under wraps until the "American Horror Story" star decided to share details of their ceremony on Instagram. 

Sidibe, 39 at the time, posted three pictures showcasing the intimate event. The first photo featured the happy couple proudly displaying their wedding bands, with Sidibe in a white shirt and pearl hair clip, and Frankel peeking from behind in a black shirt. 

The second slide showed their cat sitting on a round dining table adorned with flowers and bowls in the background. The final image captured the lovebirds taking a masked selfie, highlighting the COVID-19 precautions in place during their celebration.

After sharing their intimate pictures, Sidibe captioned the post, "These are our official wedding photos! The Wedding at the kitchen counter featuring our rings by @happyjewelers."

After sharing that they had a fun reception afterwards, she added that the ceremony involved their cat Aaron sniffing flowers that were sent to them.

Sidibe noted that the celebration concluded with a "very romantic sunset dinner," adding, "We really want to have a wedding someday, but I just couldn't wait to marry this amazing man." 

Although the mother-of-two has long preferred to keep her personal life private, PEOPLE shared details on the man after her heart and he has an impressive background in the entertainment industry.

Frankel boasts over a decade of experience in branding, marketing, and consulting. 

He has worked with some big companies and agencies, including Cameo, Paradigm Talent Agency, CAA Music, and Atlantic Records. However, he currently leads marketing and branding for booking agency 33 & West.

The couple's love story began on the dating app Raya. Apparently, Frankel reportedly got on the app after his previous marriage ended. 

Despite being unsure of how to navigate online dating, he took a chance with that app and swiped right on Sidibe. Their relationship blossomed quickly, and by November 2020, Sidibe announced their engagement on Instagram. 

Frankel also shared details of the proposal on his own Instagram, featuring a photo of a lavish setup with rose petals and a "Will you marry me?" balloon sign.
