Dolly Parton, 78, has had a successful career spanning over 60 years, and she is now ready to bring her life story to the big stage!

The "9 to 5" artist has won 11 Grammy Awards out of 51 nominations, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, and 10 CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year in 1978. She has also received 13 ACM Awards and 3 American Music Awards.

With such a successful career, Dolly Parton is ready to bring her life story to Broadway with a brand-new musical.

Dolly Parton Announces Broadway Show

Dolly Parton fans, grab those cowboy boots and plaid shirts because the "I Will always Love You" singer is taking her life story to Broadway!

"Hello, I'm Dolly! I've been writing my life story as a Broadway musical for several years and I'm proud to announce we are finally developing 'Hello, I'm Dolly - An Original Musical' for the Broadway stage," the "9 to 5" singer announced on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

The title of the upcoming Broadway show, which is set to debut in 2026, is a nod to Parton's first album, which debuted in 1967.

After hearing the news, fans of the artist could not contain their excitement. "Oh. My. Lordy. * Saving for a trip to NYC: ACTIVATED *," one X user wrote.

Another said, "Is there anything she can’t do? Nope!"

Dolly Parton Fans Express Excitement Over New Broadway Show

Fans of Dolly Parton continued to express how excited they were after hearing the news. "This is so exciting! What a perfect excuse to go back to NYC," one of her fans wrote on X.

"I will be in attendance," another said.

According to the artist, the show will include both original and hit songs. “I’ve written many original songs for the show and included all your favorites in it as well," she said in a statement, per Variety. "You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll clap, you’ll stomp; it truly is a Grand Ol’ Opera. Pun and fun intended. Don’t miss it!”

Co-Producer Of 'Hello, I'm Dolly' Speaks Out

Dolly Parton will co-produce the show alongside ATG Productions' Adam Speers and CTK Enterprises' Danny Nozell.

"I first had the pleasure of working with Dolly Parton in 2019 when she trusted us to develop a new version of her musical '9 to 5' for London’s West End," Speers said, per PEOPLE Magazine. "I had always heard she wanted to do a musical based on her life, so when she asked if I would be interested in producing it, I was bowled over."

"As the world knows, Dolly is a magical blend of talent, hard work, intelligence, charm, wit, and a gigantically big heart," he added. "I’m thrilled we’re going to bring her inspiring story to Broadway.”

A Look Back At Dolly Parton's Career

Dolly Parton has had an incredible career, spanning over 60 years, and remains one of the top country artists to date. She is known for her hit songs such as "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," "9 to 5," and "I Will Always Love You," which Whitney Houston famously covered.

She has won 11 Grammy Awards and has been nominated in all three other EGOT categories: the Emmy, Oscar, and Tony Awards.

When reflecting on her career, Parton said she "wants to be remembered as somebody who took her work serious, but not herself."

“Someone who brought books to children all over the world. For the fact that I managed to make a living doing something I love to do," she told The Independent in 2023. "And as a caring, giving, working girl.”

There's More Than Just Music

In addition to her successful music career, Dolly Parton is also a businesswoman and philanthropist. She founded the Dollywood Company, which operates the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Her charitable efforts include the Dollywood Foundation and the Imagination Library, which provides free books to children to encourage reading.

She has also appeared on-screen in Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana," which starred Miley Cyrusas the lead, Parton's goddaughter. “I think Miley’s always been pretty much in control of her own self,” Parton told The Independent. “She’s always done what she had to do – overcoming the Hannah Montana, ‘good girl’ thing... She might have overdone it a bit here and there, but I will always defend Miley.”

Parton has also starred in movies like "9 to 5" and "Steel Magnolias."
