President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, is currently on trial for federal gun charges, which originate from his 2018 purchase of a Colt Cobra handgun. The reason he is on trial is that he was accused of lying about his drug use on a federal background check form.

He is specifically accused of making false statements and illegally possessing the firearm due to his alleged drug use at the time.

During the trial, Hunter's ex-girlfriend, Zoe Kestan, testified that he used drugs months before he purchased the handgun.

According to The Independent, Hunter Biden’s ex, Zoe Kestan, took the stand, claiming she witnessed the President's son smoke crack cocaine “every 20 minutes or so” in early 2018, months before he purchased the gun. She also claims that he withdrew large sums of cash from ATMs, which was used to buy drugs.

Kestan then told jurors "she wanted to help him stop using crack cocaine," which she testified he used frequently in late 2017 and early 2018, per the outlet.

Her testimony is similar to Hunter's ex-wife's testimony, who said she first became aware of his drug use in July 2015 and had found drugs in the home and his car in the past.

The initial jury selection for Hunter Biden's trial concluded on Monday, resulting in a panel of 12 jurors. This group includes a substitute teacher and a former Secret Service employee. Among the jurors is a woman who mentioned she had lost many friends to drug addiction.

Additionally, the jury features gun owners, including one who believes that individuals who smoke marijuana should still be allowed to own firearms.

However, the judge announced the following day that they "lost" one juror overnight.

"We lost a juror overnight," Judge Noreika told the courthouse, noting that the individual lives far away and does not have reliable transportation. The individual said they did not realize they would need to be in court every day, and they could only attend on Monday because their father was off work.
