“Southern Charm” star Kathryn Dennis is denying she has fallen off the wagon or that she smoked marijuana, believing CBD oil caused a recent drug test to come back positive.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Dennis is responding to her ex Thomas Ravenel in their nasty custody battle over their kids Kensie and Saint. She is fighting to get them back after Ravenel has invoked a clause from their 2017 custody agreement, which allows him to take away custody if a drug test comes back positive, and only allow supervised visitation.

Dennis says she tried to pick up her kids last week but Ravenel’s lawyer invoked the clause. She says Ravenel has the kids and she has not seen them since.

Ravenel recently accused Dennis of failing a drug test when it came back positive for marijuana. He has requested that he be awarded sole custody and that Dennis only has supervised visits.

Dennis is adamant that since the 2017 agreement, “I have not used any illegal drugs”. She points out she voluntarily got drug tested by her doctors on a regular and frequent basis.”

She adds, “Most recently, there was a discrepancy in the results of my urine test indicating a trace amount of 16 parts per million for marijuana metabolite on June 14. However, I have not used marijuana. My hair follicle test taken on the same day was negative.”

Dennis submitted a declaration from a doctor who says the trace amount is consistent with CBD oil products – not the use of actual marijuana. She tells the court she has since quit using the products.

The reality star says since the positive test, she has taken an additional two tests on June 20 and June 24, both of which were negative.

She is adamant, “I have not seen, handled, used, smoked or eaten products containing marijuana since prior the 2017 order.” Dennis says, “I am willing to be tested anytime as I adamantly deny any illegal drug use”.

Back in November 2018, Ravenel filed a lawsuit against Bravo and “Southern Charm” producers demanding a judge stop them from broadcasting unaired footage on the show.

Ravenel filed the docs as part of his custody battle with Dennis. She filed for primary custody of the children back in October. Dennis had her custody taken away in 2016 after failing a drug test but was awarded joint custody this year after completing rehab and staying clean.

In his suit against Bravo, Ravenel says the network and “Southern Charm” producers “encouraged” his ex to file for custody against him to create drama on the show.

He demanded Dennis not be awarded primary custody despite her request. Ravenel, who is about to be on trial for an alleged sexual assault in South Carolina, claimed he learned that Bravo and producers have unaired footage of his kids and ex talking about the legal battle and it was to be aired on the upcoming season. The reality star sued demanding a South Carolina judge prohibit the sensitive footage from airing on the show.

Ravenel would later file docs accusing Dennis of buying drugs from friends and show producers and even accused her of committing a hit-and-run.
