After being slammed heavily online for his violent behavior in the footage shared by CNN, Diddy, surprisingly, took to his Instagram page to address and apologize for his behavior.

The rapper said, "It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was f--ked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior [in] that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now."

He continued, "I went, and I sought out professional help. Had to go into therapy. Had to go into rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to [being] a better man each and every day. And I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."

Elsewhere in his conversation with CNN, Legend spoke about his new podcast series "Afghan Star," which dives into the competition reality show of the same name that searched for talented singers across Afghanistan.

"It's a beautiful story of the power of music, the power of the people's resilience, and a really remarkable show that was pretty revolutionary for its time," he said. "It really captured the attention of the nation… I find the story inspiring, but also, it really shows you the power of music and the power of the human spirit."

The series first hit the airwaves in 2005 and went on to air for 15 seasons.

"Music is not dead in Afghanistan right now, even though the Taliban's back in charge," Legend added. "I think the spirit that was awakened and revived in Afghanistan by shows like 'Afghan Star' and other connections with music and entertainment, it's hard to put that back in the bottle."
